Sadio Mane reaches stunning new Liverpool landmark against Leicester City

Sadio Mane has shown no sign of slowing down in front of goal this season.

Sharing the Premier League Golden Boot with Mohamed Salah and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after scoring 22 Premier League goals, the forward was already Liverpool's leading scorer before Saturday's meeting with Leicester City with seven goals.

And despite a cagey showing from the Reds against the Foxes, the 26-year-old added to his tally further to give his side the lead shortly before the break, running onto James Milner's through-ball before slotting home.

With five of his goals this season coming in the Premier League, only Sergio Aguero can better Mane's total of 19 top-flight strikes in 2019.

And his latest goal for Jurgen Klopp's side, against Leicester City, also saw him record his 50th Premier League goal for the club from just 100 appearances.

Despite his latest goal, the Senegal international still trails Sergio Aguero (Eight), Tammy Abraham (Seven) and Aubameyang and Teemu Pukki (Six) in the league scoring charts this season.

But with Mane averaging a league goal for Liverpool every other game, he'll be hopeful of closing down that gap and defending his Golden Boot as the Reds continue to lead the way at the top of the table.
