Sadio Mane makes Liverpool vow that will scare rival defenders

Sadio Mane has vowed to push himself harder to become a better player after winning the Premier League PFA Fans' Player of the Year award.

The Liverpool star is one of the finest attackers in world football right now and his on-pitch ability strikes fear into the hearts of rival defenders.

Tottenham starlet Japhet Tanganga admitted that he was nervous about facing Mane and watched YouTube videos of him "twisting players inside out" and Sheffield United defender George Baldock recently said the Senegal international was "a nightmare".

And now the No.10, who scored 18 times and provided seven assists in the top flight last term to help Liverpool claim the Premier League crown, is looking to raise his level again.

Speaking from the Reds' pre-season training camp in Austria, Mane told the club's official website : "In part of football it's no secret, you just need to push yourself always and try to work harder than you did before.

"I was really happy and I want to say thank you to all the fans around the world who voted for me [to win the PFA Fans' Player of the Year award].

"It has been an amazing season for me and my teammates and I'm really happy and really honoured to win this. The only thing I have to say, I want to say again, thank you.

"There has been so many amazing players who made a great season but they voted for me.

"I just want to say thank you again and I will push myself harder to be a better player."
