Sadio Mane loses it, the Kop's message to Everton and other Liverpool moments missed

Liverpool earned a place in the fourth round of the FA Cup with a memorable Merseyside derby win over Everton on Sunday.

Curtis Jones scored the only goal as a much-changed Reds side shocked the bookmakers with a 1-0 triumph.

The result meant Jurgen Klopp's side still haven't lost at home to Everton since the last millennium.

But there was plenty that went unnoticed or under the radar during the 90 minutes at Anfield.

Mane can't help himself

The wonder strike from Curtis Jones, curling in from 20 yards, didn't just send the home supporters into a frenzy.

It was greeted with delirium from the Liverpool substitutes, too.

A video from the Main Stand posted on social media captured the moment Jones' shot hit the net while Sadio Mane was warming up on the touchline.

Cue the Senegalese sprinting like crazy towards his celebrating team-mates. Who said the FA Cup doesn't matter?

Lallana caps victory

There were many heroes for Liverpool on Sunday. And not all of them were staying up past their bedtime.

Adam Lallana assumed the captain's armband after James Milner's early departure and responded with a superb performance in midfield.

So much so that, after the game, Jurgen Klopp was compelled to doff his cap in the direction of the England man.

Or at least that's how it looked. A Liverpool in-joke? You never know...

Kop make their point

Fair to say the Kop enjoyed itself somewhat on Sunday. Even before the Reds went ahead, Liverpool supporters were hugely encouraged by the performance of their team - and the non-performance of their neighbours.

Plenty of chants were given an airing, some old, some new, and one about Duncan Ferguson.

But the one that cut to the bone exclaimed: "We're gonna have a party when Tottenham win the cup."

Wonder what that was in reference to...

Klopp on the ball

Jurgen Klopp has always been one to involve supporters in the whole matchday experience.

And he even went as far as directing them as Liverpool saw out the closing moments.

With Everton half-heartedly seeking an equaliser, the ball bounced into the Main Stand - prompting Klopp to implore Reds fans to keep it there.

Well, are you going to argue with him?
