Sadio Mane injury worry and 'strange' Firmino decision questioned by Liverpool fans

Liverpool fans have one or two questions after Jurgen Klopp named the team to face West Ham.

The Reds go into the contest at the London Stadium on the back of a resounding win over Tottenham Hotspur in midweek, and have the chance to climb the table with victory in the capital.

While Liverpool’s record away against the Hammers in recent years is very good, plenty of fans are worried after the starting line-up was announced.

Sadio Mane misses out with a minor muscle issue, and Roberto Firmino is dropped to the bench with Xherdan Shaqiri and Divock Origi handed starts.

Liverpool fans took to social media to voice their causes for concern with the line-up, here is a selection of what they had to say.

Aman Kuderbux: “We are cursed with all these injuries. Keep focus and we will bag the three points.”

Hicham Laaraibi: “Firmino and Mane were just coming back to form and now they are out, very surprising line up!”

Stuart Conway: “Don't get why Firmino isn't playing, he was brilliant the other night.”

Pete Kenmuir: “Seems like Firmino starts to play well and get a shred of confidence and then gets benched again. Strange.”

Stephen Lawson: “Another bizarre selection from Klopp. A chance to get back on track after midweek, but this line up looks a lot weaker than Thursday and we have paid for these bizarre selections before this season.”

James Cox: “You know your squad is depleted when you put two keepers on the bench!”

Shaun McGarry: “Bobby has his best game against Spurs then gets dropped. Good for the confidence isn’t it.”
