Sadio Mane injury confirmed by Jurgen Klopp after Liverpool beat Chelsea

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Sadio Mane suffered a dead leg in the 2-1 win over Chelsea on Sunda y.

The Senegal international was replaced for James Milner immediately after N'Golo Kante's 71st-minute strike had given the home side hope.

Mane limped away from Stamford Bridge after the game and appeared to be in some discomfort as he walked out of the stadium.

Klopp described the problems as "an awful combination" and the Reds attacker could sit out Wednesday night's trip to MK Dons in the third round of the Carabao Cup.

Klopp said: “Sadio has a knock on the bone around the knee and a dead leg. It's an awful combination.

“He tried everything but there was one counter situation when he really tried, on a non-dead leg day he'd have got the ball, but we had to say 'come on now' and made the change."
