Sadio Mane injury absence confirmed by Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has issued an update on injured forward Sadio Mane.

The German coach has explained the Reds will be without the Senegal goalscorer for Wednesday night's trip to West Ham.

Mane, who had to be replaced in the first-half during Liverpool's 2-1 win against Wolves last week, will also be absent as his former side Southampton visit Anfield on Saturday.

Speaking in his press conference, Klopp confirmed: "Sadio will not be involved against West Ham and probably not Southampton.

"After that he should be fine. After that he will be back on track.

"He has a small muscle tear which is serious enough. We were lucky with it though it wasn't too serious.

"But of course when you have three games in a week then he's out for three games."

Mane is currently Liverpool's joint top scorer in the Premier League alongside team-mate Mohamed Salah having both found the net 11 times so far this term.
