Sadio Mane has 'devalued more than' Phil Foden amid coronavirus pandemic

Sadio Mane's market value has decreased more than Manchester City youngster Phil Foden's due to the coronavirus pandemic.

That's according to Transfermarkt.com, who has calculated the impact the crisis has had on the finances of Premier League clubs.

The research states that the squad values of the Premier League as a collective has decreased by an eye-watering £1.6billion.

Manchester City have been hit the hardest - worse than any other side on the planet - due to the majority of their players being born after 1998.

According to the research, City's market value has dropped by £219million to £894million. Liverpool's, meanwhile, has been downgraded by £200million to £848million.

Players born before 1998 (Mane, Mohamed Salah, Kevin de Bruyne) have seen their values decreased by 20 per cent, while those born after this date (Foden, Trent-Alexander Arnold) have seen their values decrease by 10 per cent.

This means that Liverpool forward Mane, whose new market value is £108million, has suffered a greater percentage decrease than City youngster Foden, whose new market value is £24.3million.

That said, Mane does remain Liverpool's most valuable player alongside Salah.

City's most valuable player, meanwhile, is Raheem Sterling, who is priced at £115.20million - £7.2million more than Mane and Salah.

Transfermarkt founder Matthias Seidel said: "The stock market prices collapsed, many clubs could be threatened by insolvency und transfer plans came to a standstill for most clubs because of the many uncertainties.

"At the moment, it is difficult to imagine that transfer fees will continue to rise as they have in previous years in the foreseeable future."
