Sadio Mane forced off with mysterious injury in Liverpool's clash with Wolves

Sadio Mane has come off with an injury in Liverpool's Premier League clash with Wolves.

It appeared the Reds striker injured his hamstring, but after receiving a bit of treatment on the pitch he jumped to his feet and walked off the pitch.

Mane limped as he did so and was replaced by January signing Takumi Minamino, who makes his Premier League debut.

The Senegal striker has netted 11 goals for Liverpool this season and is a hugely important part of Jurgen Klopp's title-contending side.

If he has injured his hamstring he could face a few months on the sidelines, which would be a blow for Liverpool, who are competing on a number of fronts.

Liverpool needed less than eight minutes to take the lead against Wolves on Thursday.

Trent Alexander-Arnold's corner from the right was met at the edge of the six-yard box by Jordan Henderson and the Reds captain diverted it into the back of the net with his head.

There was a VAR review to determine whether it was handball, but the goal stood.
