Sadio Mane does the most Sadio Mane thing ever after Liverpool win at Southampton

Sadio Mane has apologised to his former club Southampton.

The Liverpool forward set his side on the way to their 2-1 victory at St Mary's when he fired them ahead just before the half-time interval.

Roberto Firmino then added a second for Jurgen Klopp's side before former Red Danny Ings reduced the arrears late on.

Mane joined the Reds from Southampton for £34m back in the summer of 2016, after scoring 21 times in 67 Premier League appearances for the Saints, after joining them for £10m from Salzburg two years earlier.

And the Senegal international was quick to pay tribute to his former club afterwards.

"I'm sorry it is against my old team and sorry I have to score but I'm wearing an LFC shirt now,"  Mane said post-match.

"Southampton was a very good step for me, I have big respect for this club. It's an amazing place.

"But it's part of football and you have to deal with it."
