Liverpool star Sadio Mane is certain Jurgen Klopp’s side will win the title and insists they are ‘not a team of chokers’.
The Reds lost their first Premier League game of the season when visiting closest title rivals Manchester City earlier this month but, having bounced back with a win at Brighton, remain four points clear of Pep Guardiola’s side.
Liverpool last came this close to ending their wait for a first Premier League title, having not been champions of England since winning the First Division in 1990, under Brendan Rodgers in 2014 but came undone with a 2-0 home defeat to Chelsea followed by a 3-3 draw at Crystal Palace.
Mane, though, is confident they will not slip this time around.
"This is not a team of chokers. I am sure we will be champions of England,” the Senegalese forward told reporters.
"When I wake up, I don't go to the training ground thinking we will not win. We are determined to show we are the best team in the league.”
The former Southampton man continued: "It is not easy to hear people accuse the team of being chokers but we have to ignore it and focus on what is in front of us.
"Liverpool had the chance to win it a few years ago and did not do it but I prefer to think it helped to bring us where we are now.
"This is not a team of chokers. I am sure we will win the league."
