Sad day for Dublin as popular restaurant and takeaway Bangkok Thai in Malahide closes its doors for good

Dubliners are set to say goodbye to a North Dublin stronghold after it was reported that a popular restaurant and takeaway is set to close its doors for good today.

The well-known, highly regarded and family owned Bangkok Thai at Townyard Lane in Malahide will close after 20 years of service in the area.

Local group 'Enjoy Malahide' posted a fitting tribute to the 'wonderful business' in a status titled 'Goodbye'.

Several locals described the establishment as one of their favourite takeaways in the capital and were saddened to see yet another place in the area close.

One heartbroken resident said: "Anyone know why so many takeaways in the village are closing? There'll be none left soon."

Another added: "Aw so sorry to see this fantastic take away going! We are regular customers. Such a pity. Thanks for all your wonderful food and friendly service over the years."

A third said: "The best employers I ever had and one of my favourite takeaways. Sad to see it go, sending you lots of love."

There was also plenty of lost and hungry locals who dreamed about one last take-out from Bangkok Thai.

The Chicken Satay Skewers, Green Curry, Chicken bits in plum and Beef Panang Curry were among the fan favourites for those reminiscing about the beloved restaurant.
