Locals in Firhouse have paid tribute to one family after they announced the closure of their iconic salon, 25 years after opening.
'Hair by Suzanne' has been an institution in Firhouse for a quarter of a century but will now close its doors one final time.
The business is family run by Gillian, Laura and Dad, Paul who's health has been declining over the past few months due to his terminal cancer diagnosis.
The decision by Paul to close the salon came as something of a surprise taking place with immediate effect.
Announcing the closure on Facebook, Paul wrote: "It's with a heavy heart I have to announce the closing of Hair by Suzanne with immediate effect."
"It has been a privilege and pleasure to have been part of the community for the last 25 years and getting to know so many wonderful people."
"Unfortunately due to my declining health issues I am no longer able to continue the running of the shop"
"I want to take this opportunity to thank my staff and everyone for your continued support over the years and creating so many wonderful memories for me."
After the announcement, locals were quick to praise the salon for its work in the community.
One wrote: "Going to miss the funniest barbers ever, Louise and Joanne, the laughs getting a haircut was better than any therapy session. They will be sadly missed."
Another took to Facebook to write: "So sorry to hear that will always remember your kindness doing my mum's hair after she just got out of hospital and it was near closing time but you said don't worry come in. Wishing you all the best x"
