A Dublin community was left in shock after a popular city centre store shut its doors.
Fun Place joke shop on King Street has closed down after 40 years in the business.
Pictures shared by Panti Bliss on Twitter show a "To Let" sign on the storefront.
Panti said: "This is very sad. I've been buying Kryolan face powder, spirit gum, and assorted costume bits n pieces from Fun Place 'joke shop' on King St for 30yrs and now it's gone!
"Another bit of the city's colour gone. And where will someone get a fake moustache or a penis straw now?!"
Fun Place owner Shay Howlin had previously said that the lockdown had a devastating effect on their business due to the shutting down of the entertainment industry during the pandemic.
Locals expressed their sadness at the news with many sharing their memories of the iconic store.
One person said: "Spent a small fortune on fake poo in there over the years. Don't regret a cent of it."
Another person added: "Ah. That's a pity. I would bring the kids in there for Hallowe'en costumes and masks."
A third person said: "The joy of going in there as a kid with a fiver! Pressing the buttons on the revolving counters. Sad to see it go."
However there is some good news as Howlin said that the store was "down but not out".
He commented on the Twitter post: "Thanks everyone... watch this space... down but not out.
"Fun Place will be back and look forward to seeing all our beautiful customers soon. Thanks for all the support & lovely messages. Keep them coming."
