Sad day for Crumlin after tragic death of 'all-round wonderful' woman

Heartfelt tributes were paid last night after a much-loved Dubliner died following a long battle with illness.

Deirdre Williams, who was a volunteer with the Crumlin Community Clean Up and Bloomin' Crumlin, was described as an "all-round wonderful woman".

A funeral cortege for the much-loved Crumlin woman will pass her house on Windmill Road today at around 1.25pm before she's laid to rest.

A touching tribute on the Crumlin Community Clean Up Facebook page reads: "Deirdre Williams, a long time Crumlin Community Clean-up & Bloomin' Crumlin volunteer and all-round wonderful woman sadly passed away after a long battle with illness.

"Dee made huge positive impacts in the Crumlin area, particularly in Windmill Road and Pearse Park, however, she made a bigger impact with the people she met.

"If any volunteers or residents would like to show their respects. Deirdre's Funeral Cortége will pass her house on Windmill Road today Thursday 27th at circa 1.25 pm.

"Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam."

A notice on RIP.ie says Deirdre died "peacefully, at Our Lady's Hospice Harold's Cross, surrounded by her loving family" on Monday.

It continues: "Sadly missed by her beloved son Zoltan, brother Derry, sister in law Phil, nieces, nephews and a wide circle of very close friends. May She Rest in Peace."
