Former England rugby head coach Eddie Jones could make the switch to rugby league, after reportedly being approached by two Australian teams.
Jones had a largely successful seven years as England boss, winning three Six Nations crowns and reaching the World Cup final with an overall win percentage of 73. Australia 's rugby union side were rumoured to be preparing to make a move for Jones to work alongside head coach Dave Rennie ahead of next year's World Cup.
Jones who has previously made his love for rugby league known has also been offered the chance to swap code, or could combine two different jobs.
Speaking on Australian television station 7NEWS, reporter Michelle Bishop revealed that two NRL clubs have been in touch with Jones regarding their coaching positions.
“I can confirm two NRL clubs have made serious inquiries about luring Eddie Jones to the NRL to coach their clubs,” Bishop said.
“They’re investigating the possibility and they are very serious about it. He (Eddie Jones) is no stranger to the game. He had a lot to do with rugby league in his earlier days."
Fellow Australian coach Michael Cheika has shown that coaching across both codes can be done as he took charge of Lebanon for last month's Rugby League World Cup while also holding his job as Argentina's rugby union coach.
Reporter Bishop added that Jones could also combine both codes providing he had knowledgeable staff around him. Jones has previously talked about a 'dream move' to boyhood club South Sydney Rabbitohs and has been linked with the role.

Jones recently spoke about his England exit and what is next for his career with the Rugby Pass . He said: "As for my next step, well I think everyone knows I love a scrap and I’m up for whatever challenge is next.
"I’m open to looking at everything in rugby and I’ve made no secret of my wish to give the NRL a go, too. Nothing is off the table. Nothing. It’s all about the right job at the right time and I’ll look at it all.”
During England's tour of Australia earlier this year, Jones also spoke about his desire to move into the NRL.
He told the Sydney Morning Herald: "If there was an opportunity there (in the NRL) I would jump at it, but the reality is it's probably not going to be there."
