'Sack him before Man City' - Arsenal fans react as Unai Emery 'given one month to save his job'

The pressure on Arsenal head coach Unai Emery's shoulders has intensified.

That is if reports in the national media are to be believed.

According to reports overnight, Emery has been given a month to save his job as Gunners head coach.

The Gunners have had a wretched start to the Premier League season, sitting sixth in the table, eight points adrift of the Champions League places.

Finishing in the top four looks a long way off right now and many Arsenal supporters have been calling for the Spaniard's head.

However, Raul Sanllehi and Vinai Venkatesham gave him the dreaded vote of confidence this week, in saying they had faith in him to turn things around.

In a note to staff, the duo said: "We are as disappointed as everyone else with both our results and performances at this stage of the season. We share the frustration with our fans, Unai, players and all our staff as they are not at the level we want or expect.

"Things need to improve to meet our objectives for the season, and we firmly believe Unai is the right man for the job, together with the backroom team we have in place. We are all working intensively behind the scenes to turn things around and are confident we will."

But reports on Saturday night suggested that Emery had now been given a month to turn things around.

According to our friends at the Mirror , Emery’s fate may be decided by the upcoming Premier League games against struggling Southampton, Norwich, Brighton and West Ham.

And that has left many fans scratching their heads.

Whatever happens, things need to change quickly at Arsenal before the rot really sets in.
