Arsenal supporters have taken to social media after reports of defender William Saliba possibly leaving on a permanent basis in the January transfer window.
According to L'Equipe, as per Get French Football News, a meeting between the club's board and the Frenchman took place last week and both parties reached an agreement regarding the teenager's future.
The report states that Arsenal are open to accepting permanent and loan departure opportunities for Saliba this month.
An arrival from Saint-Etienne in the summer of 2019 for £27m, the centre-back is yet to make his first-team debut for the Gunners after spending last season on loan with the Ligue 1 club.
And despite making "massive improvements", manager Mikel Arteta has recently opened up on his long-term plans for Saliba and why he's yet to make a breakthrough.
"Whenever we have the spaces and we believe that he’s ready to play with us," the Spaniard said. "To be fair, he’s made massive improvements in the last few months and it’s been a really tricky situation for him.
"As I mentioned before, we designed a pathway for him and there were a lot of things that happened to him in his personal life and professionally as well.
"Now we’ve made some steps forwards, he's working really hard and played for the under-21s again."
Despite those comments, the fresh reports coming out of France would suggest there's no guarantee that Saliba's long-term future is at the Emirates Stadium.
As expected, this rumour has garnered a massive reaction from some Arsenal supporters on social media, with many not happy with Edu's reported decision.

Despite reports coming out of France, football.london reported last month that no such meeting had been scheduled, but Arsenal's technical director is in regular contact with the player's agent.
Furthermore, a loan move is most likely.
Clubs across Europe are monitoring Saliba's situation and there has been interest from a number of clubs in Germany, Italy, and Spain, with Dutch giants PSV the latest side to make an enquiry in the past month.
