Sacha Baron Cohen teases mysterious new Donald Trump-related project

Sacha Baron Cohen and Donald Trump's long and turbulent relationship has seemingly come to a head, the actor teasing that his upcoming project could centre on the current President of the United States.

The pair first met back in 2003, when Cohen booked the the business mogul for The Ali G Show, interviewing Trump while in character as Ali G.

After being asked for input on a business idea by the character (ice cream gloves) Trump decides to cut things off.

Come 2012 and Cohen was promoting his movie The Dictator and decided to crash the Oscars, dumping “ashes” onto E! host Ryan Seacrest on the red carpet.

For some reason, Trump responded to the incident by posting a video online, calling Cohen a “third-rate character” and saying “I only wish that he would’ve been punched in the face so many times right now he’d be in a hospital.”

The Celebrity Apprentice host added that the actor should go back to school and “learn how to be funny”. Trump then went on Twitter to add: “I never fall for scams. I am the only person who immediately walked out of my ‘Ali G’ interview.”

Cohen decided to wait a while to respond, telling James Cordon that he ”was the first person to realise [Trump’s] a d**k” and clarifying that the then-presidential candidate “was actually there for about seven minutes.”

The Trump-bashing continued in The Brothers Grimsby, the movie featuring a crude joke about Trump being infected with HIV from Daniel Radcliffe’s blood. Cohen also arrived to the premiere wearing a ‘Make America Great Again’ hat accompanied by a group of men waving ‘Vote Trump’ signs.

Cohen’s next project looks set to take things one step further. The Borat actor posted a video on Independence Day (4 July) featuring the aforementioned 2012 video of Trump criticising Cohen, but this time with credits that read: ”He’s back as you’ve never seen him before – Sacha graduates, soon”. What exactly that means remains unknown as no other details have been released. However, you can likely expect Cohen to once again cause headline-making controversy.
