Sacha Baron Cohen: Grimsby star coming home in character 'used to confuse the children'

Isla Fisher has said how the many alter egos of her husband, Sacha Baron Cohen, used to cause confusion for the couple's children.

Appearing on Lorraine on Monday the actress, who stars alongside her husband in his latest movie Grimsby, explained how Baron Cohen often can’t help but to bring his character home: “You live with the handlebar moustaches, the mohawks, everything, the costumes."

Fisher then explained how him coming home in character would sometimes leave the children confused.

“It’s hard to drop the accent if you’re doing it all day on set,” the 40-year-old said, “Obviously the kids would get very confused when they were tiny and the dictator would be holding Elula. It was very amusing.”

In 2013, Fisher told C Magazine her husband’s roles often mean their relationship isn’t the most “normal”.

“It’s definitely not a normal relationship,” she reportedly said, “You know there have been times in the past with the guerrilla style film of Borat and Bruno where there were surreal conversations: ‘How many people are suing us? Are you wanted in any states? Are you alive?’”

Fisher has been in a relationship with Baron Cohen for 15 years and married to him since 2010. The couple has three children, Olive 8, Elula 5 and Montgomery who is 11-months-old.
