The South Australia Cricket Association will hold its own investigation into Tim Paine's brother-in-law over alleged lewd messages during his time in Tasmania.
Shannon Tubb was brought into the Paine scandal on Sunday when it emerged he was also investigated over alleged messages to the same Cricket Tasmania employee the former Test captain sent explicit texts to in November 2017.
It's understood the claims appeared in the same complaint made to Cricket Australia from representatives of the former Cricket Tasmania female employee in 2018.
They were then passed to Cricket Tasmania. Both the state and national body held investigations into Paine, who was cleared of misconduct.
It is believed CT investigated the Tubb allegations but on Monday the organisation declined to make any comment.
Tubb, who is married to Paine's sister and played 12 first-class games between 2000 and 2006, left Cricket Tasmania in 2018 and is now the head coach of the SACA's academy pathways program.
The SACA said on Monday it was previously unaware of the allegations and would hold its own investigation.
"Mr Tubb, who has all the required police clearances, commenced employment with SACA in 2018 as a talent coordinator and is currently employed as the head coach for the academy pathways program," the organisation said.
"Since Mr Tubb commenced employment with SACA, there have been no concerns raised directly or indirectly with the organisation in relation to his conduct.
"However, as SACA takes all matters relating to the conduct of our people very seriously, we are engaging with Cricket Tasmania and other parties as part of our own investigations into the matter before making any further comment."
It comes after Tubb's fellow employer, Prince Alfred College, confirmed in a letter that it was reviewing his position as cricket coach.
The college, too, noted it had no concerns about his conduct and performance while at the elite school.
