Sabri Lamouchi talks about Adlene Guedioura's Nottingham Forest future as he congratulates him on Africa Cup of Nations win

Sabri Lamouchi has congratulated Adlene Guedioura on his Africa Cup of Nations success - and says he is very much part of his plans at Nottingham Forest.

The midfielder earned himself a place in the team of the tournament via his performances with Algeria, who lifted the trophy for the second time, after beating Senegal 1-0 in the final.

Baghdad Bounedjah’s deflected goal was enough to secure victory in Egypt for Algeria and Guedioura, who has been linked with a move to Al Kuwait this summer.

There has been interest from the Kuwaiti side and it remains to be seen whether that will be stepped up again.

But Reds head coach Lamouchi regards the 33-year-old as being somebody who can have a role to play under him in the Championship this season.

“Congratulations to Adlene. We are waiting for him to return,” said Lamouchi.

“He is going to be part of our plans, of course. All good players want the same thing.

“I am sure all the people in Nottingham will welcome him back.

“We are happy to work with this kind of people.”

Guedioura has made 25 starts and 14 sub appearances for the Reds, scoring two goals, since returning for a second spell at the City Ground in January 2018, when he rejoined the club from Middlesbrough.
