Sabri Lamouchi steering Nottingham Forest to brilliant win hasn't gone unnoticed

Sabri Lamouchi put paid to the so-called manager of the month curse with Nottingham Forest’s victory over Leeds United on Saturday.

And it seems that brilliant 2-0 win hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Goals from Sammy Ameobi and Tyler Walker helped the Reds see off their promotion rivals at the City Ground, with an impressive performance moving them to within one point of the second-placed Whites.

It came on the back of Lamouchi being crowned the Championship’s Manager of the Month for January, after an unbeaten league run which sent Forest soaring up the table.

Last time he took that title, back in September, the Reds followed it up by losing at Wigan Athletic.

No such worries this time around.

And the weekend’s victory sees Lamouchi named as the EFL’s manager of the week.

There are no Forest players included in the line-up, though, despite some standout displays.

Aside from the two goalscorers, Brice Samba pulled off an outstanding save to deny Liam Cooper, Joe Lolley was in top form and the back line did a fine job of keeping the visitors at bay.

The Reds will be looking to back that result up when Charlton Athletic visit Trentside tomorrow.
