Sabri Lamouchi says he will leave Nottingham Forest to make decisions on players outside first-team plans

Nottingham Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi says he will leave it to the club to make decisions on those players not part of his first-team plans.

The transfer window closes for Leagues One and Two and leagues across Europe on Monday, meaning there is still a chance for players not training with Lamouchi’s senior squad to move on.

The likes of Daryl Murphy, Zach Clough, Jason Cummings, Gboly Ariyibi and Liam Bridcutt all find themselves out of favour at the City Ground.

Lamouchi, though, says his focus is on those who are in contention for a first-team place, adding he is happy with the squad he has to work with.

Asked if any of those fringe players are likely to leave before Monday’s deadline, Lamouchi said: “I don’t know, that is something for the club.

“I am happy with the squad I have now; I just want to work with them.”

The Reds signed off for the international break with a 1-1 draw at home to Preston North End which made it seven games unbeaten in all competitions.

And Lamouchi is now looking forward to spending time on the training pitch with his squad.

“We will rest first and then work to prepare for the next game,” he added.

“We have a lot of games in September and October. The rhythm will be different, but we must be ready.”
