Sabri Lamouchi's 'faith' is inspiring Nottingham Forest teenager

Brennan Johnson is thriving on the "faith" shown in him by Nottingham Forest's new head coach Sabri Lamouchi.

The teenage midfielder has played in two of the Reds' opening three matches of the season, coming off the subs' bench in both the Championship clash with West Brom on the opening day of the campaign and their Carabao Cup victory against Fleetwood Town in midweek.

Having made the step up from the academy this summer, the 18-year-old is loving every minute at first team level.

“Every day I keep improving and by training with such good players it can only make me a better player," said Johnson, a Wales Under-21 international.

"The coach keeps showing faith in me, putting me in the squad and on the bench and this keeps me working hard and staying motivated.

"As soon as the new coach came in you could see he had faith in the youth. In the pre-season games and at the start of the season he was putting us on and it just makes you want to work harder every day.

“If I came into the team at the end of last season, not really training that much, I think I would have found it harder. So just from the pre-season games and training with good players it makes it a lot easier and makes me feel more calm when I get the chance.”
