Sabri Lamouchi reveals his first target with Nottingham Forest this season

Nottingham Forest manager Sabri Lamouchi aims to guide the Reds back into the Premier League - but his first objective is to last the entire season.

The 47-year-old arrived at the City Ground in the summer for his fourth managerial position in a third continent, having started his career in Africa before progressing to the Far East, then back to Europe with Rennes.

Since crossing the channel in the summer, Forest have been in fine form and sit second in the Championship standings, having avoided defeat in 10 consecutive matches since the opening night of the season.

That has seen optimism around the City Ground rise significantly but Lamouchi is not getting ahead of himself, as he is all too aware of the chopping and changing that has occurred in the past decade.

"The last five years, they have changed 11 managers here. The last one to do a full season it was close to ten years ago," he told Sporting Life.

"I just want to make one season, one full season, and we will see where we finish. It just needs stability. I am not a magician. I am just a manager."

However, Lamouchi's long-term objectives are certainly parallel to what Forest fans are waiting, with the dream of returning to the top-flight for the first time this side of the millennia.

"I want the same as all the people. The past is the past, I can live with the past but I need to think about now and just now. We will see. We will see but of course it is not an easy job.

"I am so happy, but I am so lucky. I'm a lucky man. I played football in my first life and now I am a manager.

"My life is football so I'm very lucky."
