Sabri Lamouchi names his Nottingham Forest starting XI for Preston clash

Nottingham Forest were without both Joe Lolley and Matty Cash as they looked to get back to winning ways against Preston North End.

The former had been brought off at half-time of the midweek defeat to Fulham, suffering from shin splints, while Cash was also left out of the matchday squad.

And they made up two of four changes to the starting XI made by boss Sabri Lamouchi at Deepdale, with Tobias Figueiredo and Tiago Silva dropping to the bench against the Lilywhites.

Carl Jenkinson stepped in at right-back for Cash, making his first appearance since February and the 1-0 defeat to Charlton Athletic.

Michael Dawson also came into the back line, in the place of Figueiredo, while Ryan Yates and Nuno Da Costa took their places in the line-up as Lamouchi also looked to opt for a change in formation.

Joe Worrall and left-back Yuri Ribeiro completed the back line, ahead of goalkeeper Brice Samba.

But ahead of them, it was set to be a midfield three of Yates, Samba Sow and Ben Watson.

Da Costa joined Sammy Ameobi and Lewis Grabban as an attacking trio, as the Reds looked to take potentially a big step towards securing a top six finish.

In addition to Figueiredo and Silva, Jordan Smith, Joao Carvalho, Adama Diakhaby, Alfa Semedo, Tyler Walker and Alex Mighten were on the bench.

And there was also a spot for full-back Tendayi Darikwa, who was included in a matchday squad for the first time this season after suffering a ruptured ACL on the eve of the campaign.

Forest: Samba, Jenkinson, Dawson, Worrall, Ribeiro, Watson, Sow, Yates, Ameobi, Grabban, Da Costa. Subs: Smith, Figueiredo, Carvalho, Diakhaby, Semedo, Darikwa, Silva, Walker, Mighten.
