Sabri Lamouchi in tunnel clash as Huddersfield Town boss makes Nottingham Forest accusation

Tunnel tension

Head coach Sabri Lamouchi admits there was some “tension” in the tunnel at half-time of Nottingham Forest’s 2-1 bad-tempered defeat at Huddersfield Town.

The Reds went into the break 1-0 down thanks to Christopher Schindler’s volley just past the half hour, having paid the price for not making the most of their chances.

There was a heated exchange of words between Lamouchi and opposite number Danny Cowley as the two sides made their way to the changing rooms.

And with a number of Terriers players having required treatment at various points in the game, seemingly in a bid to waste time, the Frenchman expressed his frustration at “bad tactics” from the hosts.

Nottingham Forest went into half-time trailing 1-0 at Huddersfield Town, as Christopher Schindler scored for the hosts just after the half hour mark.

And heading down the tunnel at the break, there was a heated exchanged between Reds boss Sabri Lamouchi and his counterpart Danny Cowley.

The Reds had been the better side for much of the first half, until the Terriers broke the deadlock.

Feisty affair

Huddersfield manager Danny Cowley accused Nottingham Forest's coaching staff of showing "a lack of respect" after clashing with Sabri Lamouchi during the Terriers' 2-1 win.

In a feisty encounter, Steve Mounie scored his first goal since February and skipper Christopher Schindler was also on target as Huddersfield upset promotion-chasers Forest at the John Smith's Stadium.

Despite Joe Worrall's late header, the Reds left west Yorkshire with nothing to show for their efforts, and to reflect on a fifth game without victory.

A half-time melee saw Cowley and Forest boss Lamouchi clash on the touchline and down the tunnel as the contest boiled over, as well as at the final whistle with both sets of players getting involved.

Transfer blow?

Nottingham Forest look to have suffered a transfer blow.

The Reds are understood to have placed Brighton's Glenn Murray on a shortlist of striker targets ahead of the January transfer window, with boss Sabri Lamouchi eager to bolster the firepower at the City Ground.

Lewis Grabban is enjoying a good season in front of goal, with 10 goals to his name in 21 matches.

But on-loan Wolves forward Rafa Mir has failed to find the back of the net in 13 matches.
