Sabri Lamouchi has been talking about his long-term future - and it's great news for Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Sabri Lamouchi says he is carrying out his work on Trentside as if he is going to be manager at the City Ground for the next ten years.

Forest's French boss has become a hero since joining in the summer despite being somewhat as an unknown to English football.

Six months on the Reds are now in the strongest position they have been for a number of years and are being considered as true automatic promotion challengers.

Lamouchi is the man who has finally got Forest dreaming of the Premier League again - but should he fail in his quest to bring the big time back to Nottingham it looks almost certain that top flight clubs from across Europe will be keen to see if he can replicate his impressive work for them.

But Reds fans shouldn't be worried with Lamouchi currently focused on nothing but where Forest are heading.

“I am working as if I am going to be here for the next ten years as manager,” Lamouchi told The Athletic.

“I know that is unlikely to be the case, unfortunately because I feel at home here. It is not difficult for me.

“The priority is to focus the players on what is happening now. We do not have time to lose football matches, so the priority is just to do your job.

“I will be a manager next season, for sure," he answered, after being asked about future with Forest specifically.

“I do not know. I do not make that decision. I will be a manager. Not just for next season - I will be a football manager for the next 15 or 20 years because this is my love and my passion.

He added: “I am lucky and I am so proud to be managing one of the biggest clubs in England. I am happy because I am lucky. It is not easy - it is hard every day.

"But I am lucky. I have nothing to complain about because my job is my passion. I am a lucky man.”
