Sabri Lamouchi gives transfer update on Nottingham Forest's links to Huddersfield winger Adama Diakhaby

Nottingham Forest head coach Sabri Lamouchi was tight-lipped when asked about the prospect of signing Huddersfield Town winger Adama Diakhaby.

The Reds are in the market for a wide man, as well as a striker, as they look to strengthen their ranks for a promotion push in the second half of the season.

Diakhaby is understood to be on their radar, having fallen down the pecking order at the Terriers since the arrival of Danny Cowley as manager.

Forest are yet to make any additions during the January transfer window, and Lamouchi gave little away when asked if Diakhaby could be the first one.

“I know the player, he is a great one, but he is not our player,” said the Frenchman, after his team’s 3-1 victory over Luton Town at the City Ground.

“I don’t know anything from the club because I was focused on the game. I will chat with them.

“But if it is close or done, I don’t know.”

Diakhaby signed for Huddersfield at the start of their final season in the Premier League, but has made just 18 appearances this time around.

He last featured for Town in their 5-2 Championship defeat to Bristol City, back on November 30.
