Sabri Lamouchi admits to feeling the pressure as Nottingham Forest continue losing run

Injury blow

Nottingham Forest defender Joe Worrall is facing almost two months on the sidelines with a foot injury.

The centre-back has been a key player under Sabri Lamouchi, but will be out of action for the next “six or seven weeks”.

Worrall had started the Reds’ first two league games, but was one of seven changes made by Lamouchi in a 1-0 defeat to Huddersfield Town.

The academy product’s absence meant debuts in the centre of the back line for summer signings Loic Mbe Soh and Scott McKenna, as Tobias Figueiredo was also left out of the matchday squad.

Under pressure

Head coach Sabri Lamouchi admitted to feeling the pressure as Nottingham Forest’s woeful start to the season continued with a fourth successive defeat.

The Reds remain without a point from three league games and have yet to score a goal this term as they were toppled 1-0 by Huddersfield Town.

Lamouchi’s position came under scrutiny in the summer after his team’s final day collapse saw them miss out on a play-off spot.

And Fraizer Campbell’s winner for the Terriers has left the Frenchman on thin ice as his new-look side struggle to get going in the 2020/21 campaign.

Danny Gabbidon says the pressure is building on Sabri Lamouchi and says he cannot see what the under-fire Nottingham Forest boss' gameplan is.

Forest's winless start to the season went on with a disappointing defeat to Huddersfield Town in which they struggled to create chances.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Gabbidon questioned why Lamouchi rang the changes to his starting XI if they were just going to put in a similar performance to previous teams.

"I think it's disappointing again," he said.

New signing

Nottingham Forest have confirmed the signing of Nicholas Ioannou.

The former Manchester United academy defender moves to the City Ground on a permanent deal from APOEL.

Forest confirmed his arrival in a statement.

"Nottingham Forest are delighted to announce the signing of defender Nicholas Ioannou on a permanent deal," it read.
