The image shows the Saatva Classic mattress on the left hand side and the WinkBed on the right in a side by side comparison .

Saatva Classic vs WinkBed: At a glance

Want to treat your sleep to a luxury mattress tailored to your comfort needs? In our Saatva Classic vs WinkBed mattress comparison, we'll be looking at two popular handcrafted hybrids that you can customize to your preferences.

We've tested them both and the Saatva Classic tops our guide to this year's best mattresses you can buy online. It delivered an all-round outstanding performance in our tests and suits almost ever sleep style. But the WinkBed is a close contender and for some sleepers, it even outperforms the Classic.

With both beds on sale in the Black Friday mattress deals, now is the perfect time to upgrade your sleep comfort. But is the Saatva Classic or the WinkBed mattress right for you? We're comparing price, support and performance, based on our expert testing, to help you decide.

Saatva Classic vs WinkBed Mattress: Price & Trial

  • Saatva's best sales cut $400 off the retail price of the Classic
  • WinkBed has an evergreen $300 discount
  • Saatva’s benefits are more generous than WinkBeds’

The Saatva Classic and the WinkBed are both premium mattresses and below we'll explore why we think these luxury handcrafted beds are worth the investment. But for now, let's take a closer look at the pricing.

Saatva mattress sales run throughout the year but you'll see the biggest discounts around major sales events. Currently, there's $400 off all sizes of the Classic in the Saatva Black Friday mattress sales, reducing a queen from $2,139 to $1,739. That's the biggest discount we expect to see on the Classic so if you've been on the fence, now's the time to shop.

In the WinkBed mattress sales there's currently 30% off all mattresses, reducing a queen WinkBed to $1,799 (was $2,570.) Note that the WinkBed Plus, designed for heavier bodies, is slightly pricier at $1,999 in the sale (was $2,856.)

You used to be able to set your clock by the WinkBed sales but recently the brand has undergone a shake up. The previous $300 sale has been replaced by 30% off, coinciding with a price hike. We'll be keeping a close eye on how this sale evolves, so bookmark our mattress sales page for all the latest updates.

And WinkBed isn't the only brand that's seen prices rise, as the Saatva Classic's queen MSRP has gone from $2,095 to $2,139 over the course of 2025. Both beds are still competitive with the best luxury mattresses, but it underlines the benefits of sale shopping.

In terms of benefits, the Saatva Classic beats the WinkBed hands down with its 365-night trial, lifetime warranty, and free white glove delivery and old mattress removal. WinkBeds also offers a lifetime warranty, but you’ll only get a 120-night trial and free shipping to your door.

However, Saatva does charge a $99 return / exchange fee, whereas returns are free with the WinkBed.

Saatva Classic vs WinkBed Mattress: Materials & Design

  • Both mattresses are hybrids, but the Classic is an innerspring hybrid
  • The Saatva Classic comes in two heights and three firmness levels
  • The WinkBed comes in one height and four comfort options

After rigorous testing both at home and in our Sleep Lab. we've determined the Saatva Classic is the best hybrid mattress you can buy, bringing a touch of hotel quality into your bedroom. Available in two heights (11.5" and 14.5") and three firmness options (Plush Soft, Luxury Firm, Firm), the Saatva Classic is a highly durable mattress that should give you years of comfortable sleep.

Underneath the 3” thick Euro pillow top (made with organic cotton and with zoned quilting in the middle for extra lumbar support), you’ll find a CertiPUR-US certified memory foam layer that’s specifically geared towards healthy spinal alignment.

Next up, a layer of individually wrapped 14.5-gauge recycled steel coils sits on top of a support base made up of 13-gauge tempered steel support coils. This is all wrapped up in a foam encasement around the perimeter to stabilize the whole mattress. The cover has also been treated with a specialized botanical antimicrobial treatment that helps to prevent mold and mildew.

The WinkBed comes in one height (13.5") but four firmness options (Soft, Luxury Firm, Firm and Plus). The mattress starts with a Tencel cover that’s OEKO-TEX Standard Class 1 certified (meaning it’s safe enough for children).

All models start with a Euro-pillow top. The luxury firm and firm options have a two-layered top, while the soft version features a three-layered top for a plusher surface. Until recently, the Plus version had a tight top, but now it has a dual-layer pillow top like the rest of the lineup.

The standard WinkBed models are finished with a 2" gel memory foam comfort layer, a thin layer of stability foam, and a 3-zoned bed of support coils. The WinkBed Plus swaps the stability foam for a layer of 100% pure latex with seven ergonomic zones, while the coils have been upgraded to a 5-zoned support system.

Saatva Classic vs WinkBed Mattress: Comfort & Support

  • Both mattresses offer targeted lumbar support
  • For most sleepers, we recommend the Luxury Firm options
  • WinkBed Plus is a better choice for heavy people

The great thing about both the Saatva Classic and the WinkBed mattresses is that they allow you to customize your mattress and choose a firmness rating that best suits your body weight and sleeping style.

In our Saatva Classic mattress review, we tested the Luxury Firm version of the bed, finding that it offered great pressure relief, along with a fairly traditional innerspring feel. This is a mattress that you sleep on top of, rather than sinking into. There’s good bounce from the coil system, and the pillow top provides plenty of cushioning comfort.

We rate the way this mattress keeps the spine aligned, and you’ll also feel that your pressure points are kept cushioned. Both beds are included in our guide to the best mattresses for back pain. However, the Saatva Classic in particular is a fantastic choice for those experiencing aches and pains, with the enhanced lumbar support helping to ease any problems. For those with more serious back pains and specific back conditions though, the specialized Saatva RX could be a better choice.

We also tested the Luxury Firm version of the WinkBed in our WinkBed mattress review, finding that, as with the Saatva Classic, it suited the vast majority of people.

Our testers also found that their pressure points were supported and cushioned, and particularly rated the 3-step Back Relief System and LumbarLayer that combined to align the spine and provide extra support where needed.

For side sleepers, particularly those with a lighter build, we recommend the Soft version of both beds. These have plusher comfort layers, which should help prevent pressure build-up at the shoulders and hips. Stomach sleepers, however, should consider the Firm versions, as the lack of sink will help prevent lumbar pain.

There's one type of sleeper we recommend the WinkBed over the Classic for: those with a heavier build. We rate the WinkBed Plus the best mattress for heavy people, with a max weight limit of 900lbs. The Saatva Classic, meanwhile, has a capacity of up to 600lbs total.

Saatva Classic vs WinkBed Mattress: Temperature Regulation

  • Both mattresses offer good temperature regulation
  • Saatva’s double layer of coils provides lots of space for air to circulate
  • The WinkBed keeps sleepers cool with its moisture-wicking cover

When we tested the Saatva Classic all our testers stayed cool and comfortable throughout the night. The Saatva has very little foam along with a double layer of coils creating plenty of space for airflow. There’s also a cotton cover that’s naturally breathable.

Our testing team thought the WinkBed offered "decent temperature regulation" but it struggled to compare to the beds in our best cooling mattress guide. Overall, we recommend the Saatva Classic to hot sleepers.

However, WinkBed has recently added an option cooling cover upgrade. The 'Frost' cooling cover features Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethelene (UHMWPE — doesn't that just roll off the tongue?) fibers, designed to draw excess heat away from the body.

The cover is $125 in all sizes, bringing a queen to $1,924 in the sale. But for hot sleepers, it might be worth the upgrade.

Saatva Classic vs WinkBed Mattress: Which should you buy?

Buy the Saatva Classic if...

You want exceptional edge support: The Saatva Classic scored 5/5 in our edge support tests, meaning you can sleep on the full width of the mattress, as well as sit on the side comfortably without risking rolling off. It's the best edge support of any mattress we've tested.

You suffer with aches and pains: The Saatva’s enhanced lumbar support does a fantastic job of easing aches and pains, leaving sleepers more refreshed and pain free when they wake up.

You want the perks: Saatva's 365-night trial and lifetime warranty are excellent benefits that back-up the quality of the mattress but it's the free white glove delivery that really catches our eye; you need to pay at least $125 for this premium service at WinkBed.

Buy The WinkBed mattress if...

You’re of a heavier build: The WinkBed Plus is our top pick for heavier bodies, with its anti-sag foam, latex layer and banded together coils that offer extra durability.

You experience back pain: The WinkBed offers fantastic pressure relief and a dedicated system to help support the spine and prevent any back pain from building up.

You want upgraded cooling: While we think the Saatva Classic does an excellent job at temperature regulation, the WinkBed's cooling cover upgrade just gives it the edge for hot sleepers.
