The extended Saatva Black Friday sale is your best chance to save big on these luxury hotel-style mattresses and that’s why I’m back bright and (very) early this morning tracking all of the big deals that are still live on the top mattresses in the luxury sleep brand’s range.
These are the biggest discounts we’ve seen in months, making Black Friday weekend a great time to take home a Saatva mattress for less than normal.
Here are the two best ways to save money this morning:
- Save $400 on all mattresses at Saatva with Tom's Guide's exclusive deal — this gives you the biggest saving if you’re spending under $3,500.
- Save up to $625 in Saatva’s official sale — choose this if you’re spending over $3,500.
The best sale for most people is with Tom's Guide's exclusive $400 discount on orders $1,000 or more at Saatva. That reduces the price of our favorite Saatva mattress, the Classic, to $1,739 — the lowest it's been in the last six months.
I slept on the Saatva Classic for over seven months and credit it with helping me to get my sleeping back on track post-pregnancy (I was dealing with a lot of residual hip and lower back pain). In fact, the Saatva is the highest scoring mattress we’ve tested, netting a 5 out of 5 review score and the top ranking position in our best mattress guide.
You can also get up to $625 off in Saatva’s official holiday deal — the more you spend, the more you save. Here the best discount is reserved for the Solaire, Saatva's premium adjustable mattress. Below I'll be exploring today's best Saatva Black Friday deals and sharing my top tips on how to choose the best Saatva mattress for you.
Plus expert advice on where to find the lowest prices, and how you can try before you buy this weekend. Let's get started!

Welcome to our Saatva Black Friday sale live blog!
Claire Davies, Managing Editor Sleep, Tom's Guide
It’s Black Friday and we know lots of people are looking to save money on a Saatva mattress today, so we’re here to help you find the best deals on these luxury hotel-style mattresses.
While Saatva is best known for its non-toxic handcrafted mattresses, it also makes a wide range of organic and natural bedding, mattress toppers, and furniture. And we’ll be talking about those too today.
I’ve been reporting on the Saatva Black Friday sale for over four years, and since joining the Tom’s Guide team I’ve retested the brand’s flagship mattress, the Classic, twice.
I know everything about Saatva mattress sales, where to find the lowest prices and when is the best time to buy depending on the mattress you want, and I’ll be sharing all of that knowledge here with you today.

Let’s kick things off with an absolute classic… the Saatva Classic
We recently re-reviewed the Satava Classic for the third time since we awarded it the top spot in our best mattress guide three years ago. And spoiler: it’s still the best mattress we’ve tested, scoring 4.8/5 - more than any other mattress so far.
I slept on a queen size, luxury firm version of the Saatva Classic for over seven months. It’s now the mattress I choose to sleep on when I’m not reviewing others, and the one I recommend to pretty much everyone looking for a new bed — it really is that good.
Here’s how it fared in our latest round in testing - you can read more in our Saatva Classic mattress review.

We sent the Saatva Classic on an international flight to see how durable it is
Here’s a bit more on our latest review…We sent our Saatva Classic on an international flight from the US to our brand new Sleep Lab in the UK, and put it through the wringer when we re-tested it under our new mattress methodology.
It still felt fresh and sturdy afterwards — it still even looked luxurious, which is impressive for a bed that’s had to put up with 25kg weights being dropped on it and had been slept on for seven months already.
I’m looking forward to getting it back in my home again for some more long-term testing. Yep, I’ll take that one for the team...
Goodbye, hip and back pain

When I came back to work after maternity leave, I felt like a bit of a fraud speaking to people about how to sleep better at night when my own was in the toilet.
You see, pregnancy left me with ongoing hip and lower back pain and it was so much worse whenever I laid down. I rinsed our test stock of mattresses and bed toppers but none of them could relieve that pressure I was feeling in those areas.
The DreamCloud Classic helped for a while, but I was still waking up multiple times a night.
Then the Saatva Classic arrived in our test lab – we'd called it in for a full retesting ahead of last Black Friday – and from the first night of sleeping on it, all that pain that was keeping me awake just disappeared.
I thought it was a fluke – the 'first night affect', but in a good way – so I was expecting some type of break-in period with the Saatva Classic.
That never happened – this luxury hybrid innerspring was instantly comfortable from night one. So comfy, in fact, that I refused to give it back after testing it at home for three weeks. I ended up sleeping on it for seven months.
Here's the crate!

Remember earlier when I mentioned how we commissioned a carpenter to make a custom crate to ship the Saatva Classic across the States? Well, here's the job in progress.
We ended up dubbing it 'Mega crate', because it was absolutely enormous, weighed more than a baby elephant (joking), and took up a third of the storage area in our Sleep Product Testing lab (not joking).
Your Saatva mattress won't arrive like this. In a minute I'll show you how your Saatva would arrive in your home, courtesy of the brand's free White Glove Delivery (and I'll explain exactly what that is too).
Plastic fantastic
Whilst all Saatva mattresses are made from a mix of premium, natural and organic materials, the beds themselves are wrapped in a protective covering for shipping.
This is what you can expect to see when your Saatva mattress is delivered, by hand, to your bedroom of choice...

Saatva's expert installation team will also take all that plastic wrapping with them, so you don't have to worry about disposing of it. Job done!
A guide to the Saatva mattresses on sale this Black Friday
OK, so I've been talking a lot already about the Saatva Classic – I'm sorry, I can't help myself when it comes to this sumptuous beast of a bed – but there are way more mattresses to browse at this luxury sleep brand, so let's take five and talk about the range a little, and how to choose the right Saatva mattress for you...
Saatva's range of mattresses has grown this year

Saatva is a luxury sleep brand that operates out of the States, with 14 domestic factories dotted across the country.
What makes these luxury mattresses stand out from the crowd is their handcrafted nature – they are assembled by hand, with each Saatva mattress made to order.
This year the brand added a new model to its range: the Saatva Murphy Bed, meaning it now sells 13 mattresses for teens and adults, in addition to a range of cute, organic baby and toddler mattresses.
I'll be back in a minute with details of every Saatva mattresses and which ones are on sale this Black Friday...

It isn't us grown-ups who can enjoy the knock-out comfort and support of a Saatva mattress – the brand makes some adorable beds for babies, toddlers and kids too.
These ones aren't on sale, but definitely worth checking out if you want to upgrade your little one's sleep space to something organic, toxin-free and breathable:

- Bunk & Trundle mattress – from $499 at Saatva
- Crib mattress – from $359 at Saatva
How to choose the right Saatva mattress for you
My one advice for shoppers this Black Friday is to not be enticed by deal prices alone. While Saatva is a luxury brand behind hand-crafted beds for all sleeping styles, requirements and needs, it’s undeniable that you reap the most benefits when you match with the right mattress for your sleep.
Here some factors that you should consider when choosing the right Saatva mattress for your sleep...

Sleeping position: The first step is to determine your sleeping position. The four major positions are: side, back, stomach and combination.
Why is it important? The ideal mattress for a side sleeper might be different from what a back sleeper needs.
Body weight: Lighter bodies won’t sink into a mattress as much as heavier bodies and this can affect the way your spine is aligned, the motion isolation and overall feel when you’re lying on the bed.

Your sleep needs: Do you share your bed? If you do, motion isolation should be a key parameter you should look for in your new mattress. Hot sleeper? A hybrid mattress or one which incorporates specialist cooling elements is your pick.
Are you someone who struggles with back pain or aches? It’s important you choose a bed which provides enhanced back support to address the same.
Type of mattress: Once you’ve taken a note of the above, it's a matter of finding the right type of bed for you.
These are the major types to look out for: hybrid (foam and springs), all-foam, innerspring (coil-based system for enhanced support), latex (naturally breathable) and smart mattresses (app-controlled beds to track sleep quality and temperature).

More Saatva deals alert!
I’ve just added a load of new deals for you to cast your eye over… Here are some highlights from the Tom's Guide Sleep team:
That's me signing off now... Hold fire for Tom's Guide Senior Staff Writer and Mattress Tester Ruth Jones, who's stepping in...
Any... time... now...
Hello mattress shoppers! I'm Ruth Jones, Senior Staff writer at Tom's Guide, and I'm here to see you through the next few hours of the Saatva Black Friday sale.
I spent a lot of time this summer testing the Saatva Classic in our Sleep Lab so I’m familiar with every stitch of this luxurious mattress.
I'm also a deals enthusiast, with two years tracking the Saatva mattress sales under my belt. Stick with me and I'll share everything I've picked up so you can get the best discount!
But Black Friday is already well underway so let’s start with a quick refresh of the deals:
Save $400 on a Saatva mattress over $1,000: Follow our exclusive link for the best deal on all Saatva mattresses under $3,499 and score the lowest price on the Saatva Classic mattress since the summer.
Save up to $525 on Saatva mattresses over $3,500: If you're choosing the biggest sizes of Saatva's most luxurious mattress, you can save an extra $25-$125 by shopping direct from Saatva — the best deals are on the Solaire.

Saatva Classic vs Saatva RX mattress
It’s time to dive into Saatva’s mattress line-up, starting with two of our top-rated mattresses for sleepers with aches and pains: the Classic and the RX.
The Classic is our number one mattress for back pain. As someone who huddles over a laptop all day, within a few minutes on the Classic I could feel it straightening my spine (in a good way.) It's like a full-body massage, every night, in your own home.
But the RX is our favorite mattress for those experiencing chronic pain. Its therapeutic support core led to a “marked improvement" in our lead testers back pain during our RX mattress review (she has mild scoliosis.)
Overall, we think the Classic will appeal to more people (it comes in three firmness levels versus the RX's one) but for dedicated, targeted back pain support, the RX is a luxury choice.

Where to buy a Saatva mattress online
Okay, let's dive into some shopping advice. If you're searching for the best Black Friday mattress deals in general, look far and wide. If you want a Saatva mattress, there's only one place to go: Saatva.com.
Saatva’s luxury mattresses are only sold on their official website. These beds aren't available from any third party retailers, including Amazon or Walmart.
Rarely — and I mean a blue-moon event — you can spot a discounted Saatva bed on a mattress liquidator site. It won't hang around long, which means you have to hurry.
And if you do stumble on a reduced Saatva mattress it'll be a one off and you'll miss out on Saatva's industry-leading benefits: 365-night trial, lifetime warranty and free white glove delivery.
To get the most out of your purchase and have a stress-free shopping experience, my recommendation is to always head to the Saatva website.
(Unless you want to try before you buy, in which case you might want to pop into a Saatva Viewing Room... but I'll get into that later.)
Saatva Classic vs Bear Elite Hybrid: Which is best for hot sleepers?

It's time for another face-off and this time, I'm pitting the Saatva Classic against the best cooling mattress online: the Bear Elite Hybrid.
The Bear Elite and Saatva Classic were neck and neck for temperature regulation in out Sleep Lab tests, proving themselves to be best-in-class mattresses for hot sleepers.
Packed with specialist cooling technology, the Bear Elite Hybrid mattress has a unique approach to temperature regulation: it absorbs a lot of heat then throws it away. Our thermal cam showed the mattress cooled a miraculous 7°F in just one minute.
By comparison, the Saatva Classic takes a more laid back approach (you might even call it... chilled.) Rather than quickly chucking excess heat, it hardly absorbs any warmth in the first place, allowing for more gradual cooling.
Ultimately, we recommend the active cooling of the Bear Elite with Celliant to chronic hot sleepers, while the Classic's neutral comfort is best for avoiding stuffy mornings.
Saatva Classic: From $1,399 $999 at Saatva
Bear Elite Hybrid w/ Celliant Cover: From $1,998 $1,198 with code TOMS40) at Bear
The numbers don't lie: the Saatva Classic is an excellent cooling mattress
I tested the Saatva Classic in our Sleep Lab so I already knew it was comfortably cool.
But it wasn't until we put it under our thermal cam that I discovered just how impressive the Classic's temperature regulation is.
The Classic hardly absorbs any body heat, and it drops the little it has taken in over the course of just a few minutes. We charted the data and the Classic has a smaller heat spike than any of our top rated mattresses:
Saatva Classic: temperature regulation test results
The lower the maximum temperature increase (MTI), and the faster the cooling rate, the cooler you'll sleep
Maximum temperature increase
| Product | Value (°F) |
|---|---|
| Saatva Classic | 6.3 |
| DreamCloud Classic | 7.3 |
| Nectar Premier | 8.1 |
| Siena Signature | 9.8 |
| Bear Elite Hybrid | 10.5 |
Cooling rate
| Product | Value (°F/min) |
|---|---|
| Saatva Classic | 1.26 |
| DreamCloud Classic | 1.12 |
| Nectar Premier | 0.9 |
| Siena Signature | 1.52 |
| Bear Elite Hybrid | 1.82 |
That means you won't get hot and if you feel temperatures rising, the Classic will work quickly to cool you down.
I credit that to three things. One, the Classic has multiple spring layers, allowing air to circulate and cool. Two, it's made with natural materials for built-in breathability. And three, it doesn't 'hug' the body, so it doesn't trap warmth next to the skin.

Cooling comfort and Classic alternatives

If I've been focusing on the Classic a lot, it's only because after weeks of testing I know this bed like the back of my hand. But for hot sleepers, let's take a look at how our testers rate the cooling properties of our favorite Saatva mattresses:
- “The Saatva Classic felt cooler than most other mattresses I’ve tested. I’d rate it among the best for temperature regulation” — from
$1,399$1,999 at Saatva - “The Saatva RX should suit most people seeking cooler, pain-free sleep” — from
$1,999$1,599 at Saatva - “I think the Saatva Latex Hybrid Mattress excels at temperature regulation…thanks to the hybrid design and the breathable organic and nontoxic materials” — from
$1,699$1,299 at Saatva - "The Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid exceeded expectations and provided an incredibly cool sleep experience” — from
$1,349$949 at Saatva - "The Saatva Contour5's adaptive cooling technology effectively disperses heat, keeping a neutral temperature overnight" — from
$1,899$1,499 at Saatva
Can you test a Saatva mattress before you buy?
I said I'd come back to Saatva Viewing Rooms and I'm a woman of my word, so let's explore what this luxury shopping experience is.
While you won’t be able to find a Saatva mattress in a typical mattress store, you can visit a Viewing Room, where you’ll be able to see the whole line-up and try them out.

Saatva Sleep Guides are on hand to answer any questions you have and help you make a purchase but when it's time to pay, your order is placed online. Sorry, you won't be able to walk away from a Viewing Room with a mattress.
There are currently 28 Saatva Viewing Rooms across the country.
Can't make it to a Viewing Room? Saatva's Sleep Trial isn't exactly ‘try before you buy’, but it gives you time to assess a Saatva mattress before you commit financially.
Saatva’s sleep trial is the industry best — 365 nights. Within that year, you can return or exchange the mattress, no questions asked... but there is a fee of $99.
A steal for small spaces...
I want to shine a light on one of the more unusual mattresses in the Saatva line-up. Earlier this year Saatva announced the Murphy Bed Mattress, a 10-inch hybrid that's designed for foldable bed frames.
Made with luxury materials and finished with typical Saatva panache. the Murphy Bed mattress serves a niche: shoppers with a big budget but a small space.
And it has the largest percentage discount of any Saatva mattress this Black Friday. With $400 off reducing a queen size to $1,099, you’re saving an impressive 26%
Speaking of lower prices…
Classic vs Memory Foam Hybrid — which of Saatva’s most affordable beds is best for you?

The Saatva Classic might be, in my opinion, the best mattress you can buy but if you’re on a tighter budget the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid is a more affordable choice. (Other than the Murphy Bed, it’s the cheapest adult mattress in Saatva’s line-up.)
Yes, it’s time for another mattress showdown…
With customizable firmness options the Classic makes it easy to pick the right feel for both your body weight and sleep style. I tried the Luxury Firm and found it comfortable in all sleep positions, providing that ‘aah’ feeling as soon as I lay down.
That’s not to discount the Memory Foam Hybrid. The memory foam comfort layers give it more contouring than the Classic, as well as better motion isolation (it’s a particularly good fit for those sharing their bed with a restless partner.) But only one firmness level, making it less versatile...
How much should you spend on a mattress?
I'm focusing on the best Saatva mattress deals here but as you might have noticed, sales are happening all over the place (this Black Friday is a pretty big deal, right?)
My team mate Lauren Jeffries is exploring all the best luxury mattress deals and their affordable alternatives live, helping you find the perfect mattress for your budget.
So if you've been eyeing up the Saatva Classic but you're not able to invest in $1,739 in a queen size mattress, she has a lower-priced suggestion (spoiler: it's the DreamCloud Classic mattress, an excellent value hybrid that can't match the Saatva for all-round support but does deliver luxury comfort on a budget)
I'm off but the Saatva sales continue!
It's goodbye from me for now, I'm off to do some Black Friday shopping of my own (my earbuds have given up the ghost so I'll be perusing the Black Friday headphone deals.)

But don't worry, the sales tracking will continue. I'm passing you over to the capable hands of Alison Barretta, mattress tester extraordinaire and Saatva expert. She'll bring you even more deals and her own pro advice for the next few hours!
Alison signing in!
Good afternoon, all! This is Alison Barretta: Tom's Guide contributor, sleep tester, and Saatva fangirl. I'll be on this live blog for the next while sharing my favorite Black Friday deals and buying advice. Stay tuned!

Visiting a Saatva Viewing Room this weekend? Here's what you should know

I'm fortunate to live in a metro area with a Saatva Viewing Room. There are 28 locations across the United States, with the latest one opening in Denver, CO.
If you're planning to head to a Saatva Viewing Room during Black Friday weekend (or throughout the holiday shopping season), here are a few things to keep in mind...
DO take your time — Saatva Viewing Rooms are relaxing environments where you're encouraged to take your time with the mattresses on the floor. I liken it to a chic hotel lobby (er, minus the beds, of course).
DO ask questions — Saatva Sleep Guides are on premises to help with whatever you need. They don't earn commissions, so they won't be hovering over you like hungry buzzards, but they'll be happy to answer any questions you have.
DON'T expect a typical mattress store experience — Warm lighting, open floor plans, and ambient music don't sound like the description of a mattress store. But remember that this is a viewing room; if you want to make a purchase, you'll have to do so on your own device. (There is a public computer on site if you want to place your order on the spot, but you may prefer to use your own for online safety reasons.)

I found a rare discount on a Saatva mattress topper this Black Friday!

Saatva's mattress toppers go on sale never. (Maybe there was that one time, but I could have dreamed that...)
But it's a shame they're immune to discounts. Saatva makes some of the best bed toppers we've ever tried. I've personally slept on the Saatva Graphite Memory Foam Mattress Topper and the Saatva High-Density Foam Mattress Topper.
They're also on the higher end of the price scale as far as mattress toppers go, but they're usually not priced high enough to qualify for Saatva's general sales...
...until now.
Our semi-exclusive $400 discount link applies to select sizes of the Saatva Organic Quilted Mattress Topper. A king-size retails for $1,295, but drops to $895 after $400 off.
That's $100 less than the queen-size, which misses the discount cutoff by a mere five bucks!
You can also purchase a split king version for $990 after $400 off. By comparison, a twin XL retails for $695, and here you're essentially getting two of those for $495 apiece.
Why invest in a Saatva mattress?

We spend roughly one-third of our lives asleep. As a wise sleep psychologist once told me, if we live to be 100, that's like having the same roommate for 30 years.
(If that factoid doesn't motivate you to improve your sleep habits...!)
But seriously, good sleep benefits our mood, our physical health, and even our gut functions. Sleep is the foundation for our overall health and well-being.
And it all starts with the right mattress.
The Saatva Classic is the highest-scoring mattress we’ve tested. Simply put, we think it’s the best mattress you can buy. Our Sleep Editor (and a Certified Sleep Science Coach) has praised the Saatva Classic for “revolutionizing” her sleep.
Other beds in the Saatva line-up, including the Saatva RX and Contour5, have also earned glowing reviews from our experienced testing panel.
A high-quality mattress is an investment in your health. Plus, with Saatva, you get what you pay for. Sure, you might spend more up front, but you'll save in the long run because you won't have to replace your mattress every few years.
And I'd be remiss to overlook the perks that come with every Saatva mattress: free white glove delivery and mattress/foundation removal, a one-year trial, and a forever warranty.
Can you still buy a Saatva Loom & Leaf Mattress in the Black Friday sales?
The Saatva Loom & Leaf Memory Foam Mattress was released in 2015. That made Saatva the only online mattress brand to offer both hybrid and memory foam options at the time. Specifically, it was intended to be a direct competitor to Tempur-Pedic.
About a decade later, Saatva introduced a new all-foam mattress, the Contour5, which ditched the pillow top in favor of a more streamlined design, along with improved foams for better pressure relief and airflow.
While the Contour5 is receiving the spotlight now, the Loom & Leaf is still available to purchase at Saatva — and the two mattresses even cost the same!
Right now, you can bring home a Saatva Loom & Leaf in a queen for $2,599 in the Saatva Black Friday sales (reg. $2,999). Choose between a firm and a relaxed firm (medium) tension.

So why purchase a Loom & Leaf instead of a Contour5 in the Saatva Black Friday sales?
You want a memory foam mattress with a sumptuous quilted top — How often do we see that in a memory foam mattress anyway? In fact, the Loom & Leaf borrows a lot of design cues from the Saatva Classic.
You don't particularly sleep warm — If overheating isn't an issue for you (or you even sleep cold), the dense foams of the Loom & Leaf won't be as much of a bother when it comes to the heat retention.
You have a split California king bed — Yes, this is niche, but this size option dropped when the Contour5 was released. You can still find it with the Loom & Leaf.

What is Saatva CEO Ron Rudzin's favorite mattress?

Earlier this year, I had the privilege of interviewing Saatva CEO Ron Rudzin as the company celebrated its 15th anniversary.
Whenever I talk to industry experts, I always ask for their favorite mattress. It’s a great insight into their own creature comforts — and, honestly, it's a fun question to ask.
Well, it turns out Rudzin is just like us! His favorite mattress is the Saatva Classic in Luxury Firm. In his own words: "For me, it just contours perfectly."
You can score the Saatva Classic Mattress for $400 off in the Black Friday Sales. Choose from three firmness levels and two height profiles to create the right mattress for your needs and space.

Saatva Classic vs Saatva Solaire: Which is a better mattress for seniors?
We call the Saatva Classic the best mattress for all sleepers and budgets, but as we age, our sleep needs change.
Is the Saatva Classic still the right choice as we enter our senior years, or is the fully adjustable Saatva Solaire the better option?

Why choose the Saatva Classic: With three firmness options, fantastic edge support and enhanced lumbar support, the Saatva Classic will suit most senior sleepers, offering a stable and supportive mattress that will leave sleepers feeling well rested and pain-free in the morning. You can also choose a lower (11.5") profile for easier mobility.
Why choose the Saatva Solaire: With 50 precise firmness settings, it’s easy to adjust each side of the Solaire to fit your exact sleeping style. If you suffer from fluctuating pain in different areas of your body, you can adjust the mattress each night as needed. Add an adjustable base for even more relief and comfort.
Both beds are discounted in the Saatva Black Friday Sale. For the Saatva Classic, you can use our semi-exclusive $400 off discount link. A queen-size is on sale for $1,739.
However, shop the general Saatva Black Friday sale for bigger savings on the Solaire. A queen Solaire is marked down to $4,074 after $525 off.
How to save on a Saatva Youth Mattress in the Black Friday sales

The Saatva Youth Mattress is a dual-sided innerspring that's designed to accommodate the changing needs of a growing child. It's like a Saatva Classic Junior, down to the brand's patented Lumbar Zone technology on the firmer (age 8-12 side).
It comes in three sizes (twin, twin XL, full). If your child sleeps on a full-size bed, you'll be able to save $400 on the Saatva Youth Mattress in full, dropping the price to $659 (reg. $1,059) and effectively making it the cheapest size option available.
Can you get away with sleeping on the full-size Saatva Youth Mattress as an adult? I wouldn't recommend it unless you're very petite. It only has a 10" profile and a weight limit of 250lbs. (The average weight limit is 500lbs for adult mattresses.)
Saatva offers free white glove delivery, but what is it?

If you buy a Saatva mattress in this year’s Saatva Black Friday sale, you’ll get free white glove delivery included in the price of your purchase. It sounds fancy, and to be honest, it does elevate the experience of buying a new bed.
White glove delivery is a special kind of delivery service that’s typically offered with luxury mattresses. You might not actually see white gloves, but your mattress will be hand-delivered (Saatva estimates within 9-21 days) directly to the room of your choice.
If there’s any set-up involved, it will be taken care of, and you can even request to have your old mattress and foundation/box spring removed, too, free of charge. You’ll need to select the box labeled ‘free mattress & foundation/box spring removal’ at checkout.
Keep in mind that Saatva won’t take away the following: any kind of bed frame, waterbed bases, Sleep Number bases, or any mattresses or foundations/box springs that are stained or damaged.
Saatva also offers a year's sleep trial, but is that actually a benefit?
One of the reasons Saatva mattresses are such good value for money (aside from the high quality) is the benefits they offer, including a 365-night trial.
You might be wondering if a whole year to try out a mattress is actually worth much? After all, new mattresses typically only take around a month at most to break in.
The short answer is yes.

Having a year-long trial period means you get to test your mattress out across the seasons where you live. For example, you might buy your new Saatva mattress right now to take advantage of $400 off all mattresses at Saatva with our exclusive Black Friday deal.
But we’re heading into winter, and although temperatures vary depending on where you are in the US, it’s obviously a colder time of year. That means if you’re a hot sleeper, you’re not really experiencing the mattress's cooling capabilities during the months you’ll need them most.
Likewise, if you purchase your Saatva bed during milder spring temps or at the height of summer, you might love how it feels then, but as the weather cools, it may not be quite as cozy as you’d prefer.
There is one caveat, though: this is not a free trial. Saatva charges $99 for returns.
That's all from me...
...but I'll be passing the baton to Claire Davies, Certified Sleep Coach and Tom's Guide's Managing Editor of Sleep. Claire will be sharing all of her favorite deals, expert advice, and much more as the Saatva Black Friday sale continues throughout the evening. Look for her shortly.
As for me, I'm about to dive into some Thanksgiving leftovers for dinner. Yum!
Get ready for more Saatva Black Friday sales action!

Hi everyone, it's Saatva mattress tester Ruth again, and I'm back for another few hours of Saatva Black Friday sales chat.
I've just been digging through all the Saatva sales and have found two great deals worth looking at. I'll be dropping them here shortly, once I've finished scouring the internet for any rival Saatva Black Friday deals...
All-foam favorites with $400 off
In my time away I've been casting a fresh eye over the deals and noticed two excellent Saatva mattresses we've hardly touched on: the Contour5 and the Zenhaven.
These sit near the premium end of Saatva's mattress line-up and, unusually for a Saatva bed, contain no springs. The Contour5 is a body-hugging memory foam mattress while the Zenhaven is a bouncy, breathable latex foam bed:
It's a side sleeper showdown...

The Saatva sale is one of my favorite Black Friday deals but I’d like to turn your attention, briefly, to another mattress sale that’s caught my eye: 27% off at Helix when you use code TOMS27.
That brings the Helix Midnight Luxe, our favorite mattress for side sleepers, down to $1,751 for a queen (was $2,398.)
Our side sleeping tester, Nicola Appleton, loved the Helix Midnight Luxe, particularly the plush pillow top that cradled her shoulder and hip. We practically had to wrestle it off her when she’d finished her Helix Midnight Luxe mattress review.
The Saatva Classic comes out on top when it comes to all-round performance; it has better cooling and stronger edges, plus plenty of contouring at the touch points
But for dedicated side sleepers, the Midnight Luxe nails that blend of cushioning and support.
When does the Saatva Black Friday sale end?
I can say with confidence that Saatva’s Black Friday sale will stick around until Cyber Monday (that’s this coming Monday), meaning you have the weekend to browse the offers and decide which mattress is right for you.
After that, the outlook is a little hazy but I can make some predictions based on previous sales.
I monitored the Saatva mattress deals during Labor Day, Memorial Day and President's Day, and I noted that when the holiday is over, the offers typically disappear sharpish.
That means from Tuesday December 2nd onwards, the deals are liable to end at any moment. So if you're thinking of investing in a Saatva mattress, I recommend you make your choice by Monday. And that's what I'm here for — to help you make the right decision.
Olympic skier-certified: the Saatva Latex Pillow
Yes, you read that right. Lauren Macuga, American alpine skier and ambassador in Saatva’s Olympic partnership, said that the Saatva Latex pillow “has totally upgraded her game on and off the road” in a recent conversation with us.

It’s so sacred it goes with her everywhere, proving what I’ve been saying for months*: the best pillow can work wonders for your sleep and your wellbeing.
So what powers the Latex pillow to the top of the podium?
- A Talalay latex foam core surrounded by microdenier fiber fill balances comfort and ‘responsive’ support
- Latex and organic cotton are used for breathability, keeping your head cool
- You can choose from two lofts to customize a pillow that works for your sleep
- You get benefits including a 45-night trial, one-year warranty and free shipping
And you can save $40 when you buy two at Saatva, dropping the price from $330 to $290. Need more info? Read our detailed Saatva Latex Pillow review.
*No, seriously. I switched to a low loft pillow and discovered a whole new world where I didn’t wake up with neck ache.
"No such thing as the perfect mattress, but the Saatva Classic comes close"

Our Sleep Editor and Certified Sleep Science Coach Claire Davies has spent the past year testing the Saatva Classic and she credits it with clearing up her back ache, transforming her rest, and challenging her idea of just how good a mattress can be.
"My sleep was ruined by hip and lower back pain," she explains. "That Saatva changed all that – I slept well on it from the first night and have done ever since."
"I scoff loudly in the face of any brand who declares they’ve made the best mattress for everyone, because there is no such thing. However, for me, one mattress comes close, and that’s the Saatva Classic."
Having picked over every thread of the Saatva Classic, she declares this mattress near perfect for almost every sleeper.
But because no mattress can do it all, if you weigh over 300lbs or experience chronic back pain she has some other recommendations. Read them here:
Does a lifetime warranty mean a mattress for life?

First things first, there is no such thing as a ‘mattress for life’. Experts say that mattresses have a lifespan of seven to 10 years on an average, although I expect Saatva's high-quality beds to push the upper end of that limit.
Saatva's lifetime warranty applies as long as the original buyer owns the bed but these warranties are prorated: the level of coverage diminishes over time.
So if an issue occurs within the first few years of ownership, you might qualify for a replacement or significant refund. The longer you own the mattress, the less you can claim on the warranty.
And you can typically only make a claim when there are manufacturing errors or issues beyond usual wear and tear. Your mattress showing some sagging after 20 years of use will not be covered by the warranty.
So I recommend you go through your terms of mattress warranty carefully before the final purchase.

The mattress I'm dreaming about right now...
I've been writing about mattress all day and as a result I'm starting to feel very sleepy.
Right now I'm fondly remembering testing the Saatva Classic. I'm a stomach sleeper with a tendency to move around in the night and the Saatva's responsive cushioning and zoned support is just perfect.
In my preferred stomach sleeping position, the Classic keeps my hips lifted and my spine aligned, to prevent strain on my lumbar.

But when I shift onto my side, the foam pillow-top moves with me, cushioning my shoulder to stop my arm from going numb.
And it was truly luxurious. I don't often get to stay in 5-star hotels but on the Saatva Classic with my eyes closed, I could almost pretend our Sleep Lab was a high-end resort. There's a reason why the Saatva Classic is the best hotel mattress you can buy.
Goodbye for now!
Okay, that’s me done but we’ll be back tomorrow for even more deals hunting (don’t forget, the Saatva Black Friday sale is expected to last all weekend.)
But before I go, let’s have one last look at the two Saatva deals to shop:
- Save $400 on all mattresses at Saatva with Tom's Guide's exclusive deal — this gives you the biggest saving if you’re spending under $3,500.
- Save up to $625 in Saatva’s official sale — choose this if you’re spending over $3,500.
Hello and welcome back to our extended Saatva Black Friday sale live coverage!

I'm Nicola, I'm the Sleep Editor at Tom's Guide, and I'm delighted to be joining you bright and early this weekend to talk all things Saatva. Sure, Black Friday was yesterday - but the Saatva Black Friday deals are still live, and we expect them to run throughout the rest of the weekend.
If you're thinking about buying a Saatva mattress (excellent choice), I'll be keeping you company this morning to bring you shopping advise, deal analysis and my personal recommendations. Stay tuned!
The Saatva mattress I'd buy this Black Friday weekend...
Is...
(drumroll)
... the Saatva Classic. I certainly won't be the first member of the Tom's Guide Sleep team to laud the benefits of the Classic, but some things are just worth repeating. Managing Editor Claire has had the chance to test the Classic a whopping three times, and has waxed lyrical plenty of times about the benefit this luxury innerspring mattress has had on her sleep. (She credits it with helping her 'sleep like a teenager' and I'm very jealous).
While I haven't slept on the Classic, I was a member of the testing panel during it's third and rigorous round of re-testing. I had high expectations - and it's safe to say that they were all met. Right now you can save $400 on all sizes of the Classic at Saatva, which is the biggest discount you can expect on this bed.
Here's just a few reasons why I recommend it:
- Edge support around the perimeter of the mattress was top notch. As Claire says in her Saatva Classic mattress review, the Classic has edges you could park a truck on.
- Temperature regulation rivalled even the best cooling mattresses on the market, despite not being a specialist cooling mattress
- Pressure relief for side sleepers like me is phenomenal (and that's coming from someone who's currently sleeping on the best mattress for side sleepers)
- Zoned lumbar support helps promote healthy spinal alignment and relieve back pain (I'll talk more this morning about why I recommend the Classic over the specialist Rx to most people with back pain).

Back pain? This is the Saatva mattress I recommend to most people
If, like me, you're someone who lives with recurrent back pain, you'll know already that the quality of your mattress makes a huge amount of difference to your pain levels, sleep quality and, as a result, recovery.
The Saatva Rx is the brand's luxury solution to chronic back pain. However, it's the Saatva Classic that I recommend to most people with back pain. Here's why we rate it as the best mattress for back pain you can buy instead of the Rx:

The Saatva Classic is a luxury innerspring hybrid mattress that’s handcrafted in the US and approved by the American Chiropractic Association. It’s available in three firmness options and two heights, making it suitable for (nearly) all sleepers.
A 3” Euro top cover delivers blissful pressure relief along the touch points of the mattress, while denser quilting along the centre third of the mattress provides the much-needed lumbar support.
Beneath this cushioning layer, a ½” CertiPUR-US certified memory foam lumbar crown gently cradles your lower spine, preventing it from falling out of healthy alignment with the rest of your body.
In comparison, the Saatva Rx has been designed specifically to ease and support chronic back and joint pain. Our lead tester, Alison, has mild scoliosis and felt a market improvement in her pain levels while sleeping on the Rx (it's worth reading her Saatva RX mattress review).
And that's likely because of its blend of memory foam lumbar crown and therapeutic support core. However, as a specialist bed, the RX is $2,999 for a queen at Saatva, which is certainly an investment. But a worthwhile one if you have severe back and joint pain and can afford it.
In contrast, the Classic is $1,739 at Saatva, and will likely be comfortable and supportive enough for most people with back pain. Plus, with three firmness levels to choose from, it's suitable for practically every type of sleeper.

What is Saatva's Lumbar Crown, and which mattresses have it?

When we talk about the best Saatva mattresses, we occasionally talk about a Lumbar Crown. This patented design is a gel-infused memory foam area of zoned support in the center of a mattress. Zoned lumbar support is one of the hallmarks of the best mattresses for back pain.
In certain Saatva mattresses, the Lumbar Crown is there to provide targeted pressure relief and support in the (you guessed it) lumbar region. It's essentially an area of padding to gently cradle and fill the 'S' shape of your spine, preventing pressure build up.
Not all Saatva mattresses come with a Lumbar Crown. However, you will find them in the:
Saatva Classic, now $400 off at Saatva
Saatva Rx, now $400 off at Saatva
Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid, now $400 at Saatva
Why the extended Saatva Black Friday sales are a great time to buy a twin mattress
There's $400 off all sizes of all adult Saatva mattresses in the extended Black Friday Saatva sales. While that's a great saving on every Saatva mattress size and type, this deals brings two mattresses within Saatva's luxurious suite of beds to under $1,000 in a twin.
For luxury mattresses handcrafted from (largely) organic materials in the US, that's a great price.
Most mattress sales are tiered, which means that the biggest discounts are usually reserved for the most expensive purchases - which is always the biggest mattress sizes.
That's what makes the current Saatva Black Friday deal such a good saving for those shopping for a twin mattress this weekend. These are the two Saatva mattresses that drop to below $1,000 for a twin this weekend...
Supportive, breathable and supremely comfortable — how the Saatva Latex Hybrid blew us away during testing

Alex, one of our contributing mattress testers and writers, recently had the chance to review the Saatva Latex Hybrid, and was blown away by its comfort and support. The Latex Hybrid is Saatva's only organic mattress (their other beds are crafted from largely organic materials, though), and Alex felt it was pleasantly bouncy, supportive and slept reliably cool, thanks to its hybrid construction and latex layer, which is naturally cooling.
Should you buy the Latex Hybrid in the extended Black Friday sales? Here's what Alex says:
"[The Saatva Latex Hybrid] isn’t for everyone," she writes in her review. "It’s a little firmer than you might be used to, but the bouncy surface does a fantastic job of supporting your hips and lower back .I think this mattress is a great choice for those who sleep on their back or stomach, or sleepers who have a heavier build."
Who wouldn't she recommend the Latex Hybrid to? "Side sleepers." There just isn't quite enough pressure relief. But if you're looking for an organic, cooling and firmer mattress, the Latex Hybrid is a superb choice. Don't forget, you can take $400 off all sizes of the Saatva Latex Hybrid at Saatva with our link.

Taking a quick break, we'll be back soon!

All this talk of mattresses and sleep has me feeling every hour of my early start. I'm going to take a little break, but we'll be back soon for more live Saatva Black Friday deals coverage. Happy shopping!
And we're back!

Hey there! I'm Jim and I'm a mattress expert and sleep writer, and I'm here to tell you all about Saatva Black Friday deals for the next couple of hours or so.
Black Friday might have finished but Saatva's mattress deals will be running all weekend and into Cyber Monday, and the main thing you need to know is that if you're planning on buying a Saatva bed this weekend you should (for the most part) swerve its official Black Friday sale and instead use our link to get a sweet $400 off any mattress.
There are exceptions to this rule, and if you're very lucky I'll go into the finer details in a bit.
Which beds should you buy in the official Saatva sale?

I'm the sort of mattress nerd who likes to crunch the numbers when it comes to sales, and I've spent a lot of time examining Saatva sales and working out which deals are best for which mattress. And I can tell you that our $400-off deal at Saatva will get you the best prices on most of its range, including the ever-popular Saatva Classic.
There are exceptions, though, and I've just spent ten minutes figuring out what they all are. So if you're planning to buy any of the beds listed below, you should head directly to Saatva to save $425 or more when you buy:
- Saatva Rx: $425 off king or larger
- Saatva Latex Hybrid: $425 off split king
- Saatva Contour5: $425 off king or larger
- Saatva Loom & Leaf: $425 off king or larger
- Saatva HD: $425 off king or larger
- Saatva Zenhaven: $425 off king/Cal king, $525 off split/upper-flex king
- Saatva Solaire: $425 off full, $525 off queen or larger
One final note, though: if you're set on any of these mattresses, there's a better time to buy. Every now and then Saatva runs a 15% off deal, which means you'll get at least $525 off the beds listed above. We're never sure when the next one's going to come along, so keep an eye on our Saatva mattress sales page if you want the maximum savings.
The Saatva mattress I'd buy if I wasn't allowed to have the Classic...

The trouble with Saatva is that the Classic is so good, especially with $400 off. And if you ask any member of the Tom's Guide sleep team which Saatva mattress they'd choose, they'd say the Classic.
So would I, to be fair. But if I had to choose a Saatva bed that's not the Classic... Well, I'm not a memory foam fan, so the Contour5 and Rx (not to mention the venerable Loom & Leaf) are out. The Saatva HD is very much not for me, a very lightweight combination sleeper, and while I'm kind of intrigued by the adjustable Solaire, I know for a fact that I'd be forever wanting to adjust the firmness levels in search of some unattainable level of perfect comfort.
That leaves Saatva's two latex beds, and I'm discounting the flippable Zenhaven for a similar reason to why I don't want the Solaire: I'd never be completely convinced that I'd picked the right side. So that leaves me with the Saatva Latex Hybrid and actually, yeah, I could quite happily live with that. Medium-firm feel, layers of wool, latex foam and steel coils, plus a hand-tufted cover? Count me in.
There's $400 off the Saatva Latex Hybrid in the Black Friday sales, but remember that as I mentioned earlier, if you want a king or larger you'll save more by shopping the official Saatva Black Friday deals.

Is the WinkBed a viable alternative to the Saatva Classic?

If you're a side sleeper there are plenty of mattress options on the market for you , and amazingly enough the Saatva Classic doesn't sit at the top of our guide to the best mattress for side sleepers.
That honor belongs to the Helix Midnight Luxe, but there's another bed at a similar price that you might be considering as alternative to the Classic, and that's the WinkBed.
The WinkBed's a hybrid like the Classic, and just like the Classic it comes in three firmness options; there's also the WinkBed Plus at a slightly higher price, designed for heavier bodies. The WinkBed delivers targeted lumbar support, just like the Classic, making it a great choice if you suffer from back pain.
If you're a hot sleeper, there's one good reason to opt for the WinkBed: its new, optional Frost cover means that it'll keep you cooler at night than the Saatva Classic, which is breathable and sleep temperature-neutral but doesn't have any specific cooling features.
Want to know more? Our Saatva Classic vs WinkBed face-off puts these two mattresses head to head.
Need some bedding to go with your Saatva mattress?
One marginally frustrating thing about the Saatva Black Friday deals is that we don't the same sort of discounts on its bedding that we get with its mattresses.
Now, that might not be an issue for you; after all, you may need a new mattress but you probably have plenty of perfectly good bedding. But given that you should change your pillow every couple of years at most, there's a decent chance that you could use a new one, and maybe new sheets to go with it.
While there aren't really any epic deals on Saatva's bedding to match the $400 off Saatva mattresses that you can get for Black Friday, there are some bundle deals that'll save you some money, including these...
What's the cheapest Saatva mattress?

If you're after an affordable mattress and you're shopping the Saatva Black Friday deals, you're probably going to be a little disappointed.
The cheapest Saatva mattress for adults is the Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid, and I have to tell you: it's not actually that much cheaper than the Saatva Classic.
The Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid starts at $1,349 for a twin, while the Classic is $1,399; just $50 more. And if you're after a queen, the Memory Foam Hybrid has an MSRP of $2,049, while the Saatva Classic is $2,139 — an extra $90.
With our $400 off deal, then, you can get a queen size Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid for $1,649 — that's $90 less than the Classic. It's not a massive saving but if you're a fan of memory foam you'll find it shares quite a few features with the Classic, including a quilted top layer and a lumbar crown for enhanced lower back support.
There's only one firmness option (medium) and the Memory foam hybrid only has a single sprung layer, unlike the Classic that has two.
Want to see a full comparison before you buy? Head directly to our Saatva Classic vs Saatva Memory Foam Hybrid face-off.
What's the Solaire adjustable mattress like?

I mentioned earlier that I think the Saatva Solaire would be a nightmare for me. With 50 firmness levels to choose from, I just know that I'd be forever fiddling with the settings and I'd never be able to settle on one.
We don't yet have a Saatva Solaire review but it's happening, and our tester, Ashley, has already provided us with her first impressions after a week of sleeping on the Solaire. The surprising detail that stood out to me is that both she and her husband, who prefers a firmer bed, found that any setting over 25 (out of 50) was far too firm.
She also found that if there's a big difference between firmness setting on each side of the bed, there's a noticeable “hill and valley” effect with a clear downward slope to the softer side. Also, if you're opting for a softer setting, the edge support isn't so good.
In general, though, so far she's finding that the Solaire provide a decent sleep experience, and I'm fascinated to see what she has to say in her final review. If you can't wait for that, our link gets you $400 off the Saatva Solaire for Black Friday, but for full size or larger you'll save more by heading direct to Saatva. And if you want to see how the Solaire sizes up against the Classic, see our Saatva Classic vs. Saatva Solaire face-off.

Need more reasons to buy the Saatva Classic on Black Friday?

I've been trying not to go too hard on the Saatva Classic today because, well, it's such an obvious choice. Fact is, though, it's an outstanding bed and if you're shopping the Saatva Black Friday deals and want a safe option that'll make you a very happy sleeper, you should buy the Saatva Classic with $400 off at Saatva right now.
But if you've read our glowing Saatva Classic mattress review and still need more convincing, that's cool. We've put the Saatva Classic up against many more of the best mattresses, and while there are plenty of beds out there that might pip the Classic in certain performance categories, you'll struggle to find a better all-round mattress.
We should know, because we've done the comparisons. Here's a handy selection of head-to-head showdowns; if you don't come away from them set on ordering a Saatva Classic right this very second, you'll have found an alternative that's a better fit for your sleep needs.
- Saatva Classic vs DreamCloud Classic
- Saatva Classic vs Saatva Rx
- Saatva Classic vs Naturepedic Concerto
- Saatva Classic vs Tempur-Pedic Tempur-Adapt
- Saatva Classic vs Nectar Luxe Hybrid
- Saatva Classic vs Birch Natural
That's it from me!
It's been Saatva-tastic (sorry), but I have to head off now. Don't go away, though, because my colleague Frances will be along soon with more Saatva Black Friday deals coverage. Seeya!
Hey there!
I'm Senior Sleep Writer Frances Daniels, and I'm taking over as your guide to navigating the final Black Friday Saatva deals. There's still time to take $400 off your mattress order at Saatva, so watch this space for discounts, buying advice, deal analysis, and tips!

Should you buy a Saatva mattress topper over a Saatva mattress? Here's my take

If you love the sound of a Saatva mattress, but it's way outside your budget, then the most affordable way to experience Saatva's signature luxury is to buy a Saatva mattress topper instead.
While pretty much all Saatva mattress toppers aren't eligible for the $400 discount, they're still over a thousand dollars cheaper and some feature in our best mattress toppers guide.
Plus, they are made withe the same materials as Saatva mattresses, such as high-density foam and organic cotton covers. They're even treated with Saatva's trademark Guardin botanical antimicrobial treatment to ward off mildew, mold, and bacteria.
Read more about what I think of the two in my Saatva mattress vs Saatva topper comparison guide.

The Saatva mattress I'd buy as a side and back sleeper...
There's a Saatva mattress I've had my eye on ever since I announced the mattress's launch back in 2024, and it's called the Saatva Contour5.
My interest increased when our testing panel got its hands on it for our Saatva Contour5 mattress review, where they gave the Contour5 a glowing review for back and side sleeping.
And now that it's $400 off all sizes, The Contour5 is definitely the mattress I'd buy in the still-live Black Friday sales at Saatva.
"Why can't I find the Loom & Leaf on Saatva's website?" Here's why.

If you're looking for the Saatva Loom & Leaf mattress (I'm sure somebody has to be, as there's been 1,900 Google searches for it this month), you may be confused as to why the all-foam luxury mattress isn't as visible on the Saatva site as the other mattresses.
That's because Saatva's Loom & Leaf has now been usurped by the Contour5 as the brand's flagship all-foam bed. And there are some pretty good reasons for that (as explained in-depth in our Saatva Loom & Leaf vs Saatva Contour5 comparison guide).
For a start, our testers found that the Contour5 slept much cooler than Loom & Lead, plus there's more lumbar support for those with back pain.
That said, the Loom & Leaf does have a plusher pillow top, and it's also available in a split California king.
Either way, you can save $400 on both memory foam beds in all sizes at Saatva right now.
See you tomorrow!
Okay, I think that's enough deals for today, but we'll be back with more Saatva mattress sale coverage tomorrow. See you then!
