Saara Aalto marries in secret ceremony in Finland during lockdown

X Factor star Saara Aalto has married her fiancee Meri Sopanen in a secret ceremony in Finland during lockdown.

The couple, who have been engaged for three years, tied the knot in a private wedding in Helsinki.

They had initially planned to wed this summer, but were forced to call off the ceremony due to the coronavirus crisis.

However, they decided to go ahead and tie the knot earlier than planned and hold a full wedding after the pandemic ends.

A statement from the newly-weds explained: "Saara Aalto today announces her marriage to Meri Aalto (née Sopanen).
