A South Australian woman will face a District Court trial for child sex offences allegedly committed over 10 years.
Nadine Hicks, 45, of Lockleys — in Adelaide's west — pleaded not guilty to eight charges in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today.
Charges include five counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a child under 17, indecent assault and procuring a child to engage in sexual acts.
The offences allegedly occurred in Semaphore, West Lakes, Lockleys, Plympton, Adelaide and Glenelg between May 2007 and May 2017.
She will appear in the District Court in May before facing trial at a later date.
The South Australian Department for Education confirmed Ms Hicks was a former employee.
"[She] was directed away from the workplace on notification of the arrest in July 2018," a spokesman said.
"A letter was sent to the parent community at that time in line with Debelle protocols.
"The site will provide further updates at the prescribed points in the legal proceedings."
The Debelle inquiry — conducted by former Supreme Court justice Bruce Debelle — urged better reporting mechanisms, after parents in a 2010 case were kept in the dark.
