South Australia is sending a State Emergency Service storm response team to Western Australia to help with the clean-up following Tropical Cyclone Seroja.
The 22-strong team will be based in Geraldton and the surrounding areas, 400 kilometres north of Perth after leaving Adelaide on Saturday.
They are expected to return mid-next week.
SES Deputy Chief Officer Dermot Barry said the SA volunteers were ready to support affected communities and work alongside the Department of Fire and Emergency Services in the recovery efforts.
"South Australia has a long history of providing assistance to other states during their times of need," Mr Barry said.
"We are expecting our volunteers to be very busy helping their local counterparts who have received hundreds of calls for help following the tropical cyclone."
The SES is also liaising with emergency authorities in Western Australia to see if, what and when other resources may be required.
Seroja was classified a category three cyclone when it crossed the coast last weekend, with 170-km/h wind gusts causing the most damage in the holiday town of Kalbarri.
The damage to some properties there is so severe many will need to be demolished.
