SA Police are looking for a man who grabbed a woman while she was walking in Adelaide's inner west on Saturday.

They say the victim was walking north on South Road near Thebarton's Queen of Angels church at about 1:15pm when a charcoal-coloured SUV — possibly a Ford Territory — with a tow bar pulled up beside her.

The driver of the car then allegedly assaulted the woman by grabbing her arm, but she was able to run away without being injured.

Police have released a computer-generated image of the man.

They describe him as having an olive complexion, aged in his mid 40s, with short dark brown hair and dark brown stubble.

He was wearing a black baseball cap, an orange fluoro long-sleeve top with navy coloured elastic on the cuffs, and camel-coloured long pants.
