Analysis of material seized during a search led to terror-related charges being brought against an Adelaide man, a court has heard.
Patrick Patmore came before Elizabeth Magistrates Court for the first time on Thursday after being charged with possessing extremist material and possessing information for terrorist acts.
He had previously faced court in relation to alleged explosives offences.
Defence counsel said the fresh allegations arose from an analysis by electronic crime officers of material seized during a search in April.
The 33-year-old's home was one of 15 Adelaide properties raided as part of an investigation into ideologically motivated violent extremism, led by South Australia's Joint Counter Terrorism Team.
On Thursday, Patmore's bail was continued and he was ordered to return to court in December in relation to all matters.
He was not required to enter any pleas and made no comment outside court.
When the fresh charges were brought, Australian Federal Police Assistant Commissioner for Counter Terrorism Scott Lee said the threat of terrorism in Australia was enduring and becoming increasingly diverse and complex.
"We continue to place significant effort and resourcing into combating these threats and keeping our communities safe," he said.
