S Club star Bradley McIntosh confirmed a 21-year-old stabbed to death in Maidstone was his cousin in a poignant on stage tribute.

Mr McIntosh asked those gathered at a performance over the weekend to hold a minute's silence for his relative Andre Bent.

Mr Bent was was repeatedly stabbed on Saturday night and police said the 21-year-old died at the scene in Maidstone, Kent, at about 3am on Sunday.

This followed a “disturbance” involving multiple people in Maidstone's High Street, police said.

According to the Worcester Observer, Mr McIntosh said on stage at the city’s Sunshine Festival: I’d rather be here performing for you Worcester, than moping at home.

“But please can we have a minute’s silence for my cousin.”

Mr Bent's uncle told The Sun the 21-year-old was a "great young guy" and he was in his second year at university.

Kent Police is conducting a murder inquiry and a fifth man was arrested in regards to Mr Bent's death today.

Four other men, all from London, were arrested and charged with violent disorder in connection with the incident.

Witnesses should contact police on 01622 604100 quoting 25 0224 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
