S Club 7 star Paul Cattermole's cause of death confirmed after tragic passing

A month after S Club 7's Paul Cattermole passed away, a cause of death has been confirmed. Family, friends and fans were all devastated when Paul was found dead in his ground floor flat in Wareham, Dorset, on April 6, 2023.

The 46 year old died shortly before the S Club 7 bandmates had planned to reunite for a 25th anniversary tour. Following his death, S Club member Hannah Spearritt announced she would not to continue with the reunion tour, but the rest of the band will reunite.

The Dorset Coroner's Service has finished its investigation of Paul's death and confirmed the cause. The service has confirmed that Paul sadly died due to natural causes and there will be no inquest into the singer's death reports The Daily Mirror.

However, Dorset Police who found Paul's body said that their enquiries were "ongoing". Following his death, a spokeswoman for the coroner's service told The Sun: "I can confirm that Mr Cattermole died from natural causes and our investigations have concluded."

Paul's death was announced by his family and his band S Club 7 last month, and his fans and famous friends were quick to take to social media with tributes and sharing memories of the late star.

A statement from the band to announce Paul's death read: "We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have.

"He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time." The singer's body was found in his home on April 6, but the news of his death was not made public until the following day.

A statement from his family shared at the time read: "It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved son and brother Paul Cattermole. Paul was found yesterday, 6th April 2023 at his home in Dorset and was pronounced dead later that afternoon.

"While the cause of death is currently unknown, Dorset Police has confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances. Paul’s family, friends and fellow members of S Club request privacy at this time."

Paul's tragic passing came just weeks on from S Club 7 announcing their plans to reunite ahead of their 25th anniversary as a band. In a statement issued in February this year, Paul, Bradley McIntosh, Hannah Spearritt, Jo O'Meara, Jon Lee, Rachel Stevens, and Tina Barrett, said: "After eight years it feels amazing to announce that we're reuniting and performing together again.

"We're so excited to bring the S Club Party back to our fans across the country to celebrate 25 years of S Club 7. We can't even believe it's been so long! Music and friendship have always been at the core of everything that we've ever done.

"We hope everyone can join us for one big party!" Tickets went on sale later that month, and due to the demand further dates were added.
