S Club 7 star Jo O'Meara spotted on stroll after four agonising back surgeries

Jo O'Meara is back on her feet amid fears she would never be able to dance again following a string of agonising back surgeries.

The pop star, 43, underwent surgery to remove a part of her disc in her back after waking up in such a huge amount of been she felt as though she had been shot.

Following the operations, Jo was left to take a different number of pain medications, but none - including morphine - seemed to take the edge off her unbearable pain.

Thankfully, the Don't Stop Movin' hit-maker appears to be back in action again as she was spotted out for a casual stroll with her beloved dog on Tuesday.

The S Club 7 star appeared in high spirits as she was pictured chatting to a friend while she wrapped up warm against the chilly January breeze in a long-lined puffer jacket, a cheetah print floral tracksuit, and some trusty trainers.

The singer finished off the dressed-down look with a pair of trendy glasses and she wore her blonde hair back in a messy bun for the Tuesday stroll.

Jo kept a low-key profile on her outing - which comes just days after it was revealed that S Club 7 are reforming.

All seven of the group have agreed to the comeback, including Jo, Rachel Stevens, 44, Tina Barrett, 46, Jon Lee, 40, Paul Cattermole, 45, Bradley McIntosh, 41, Jo and Hannah Spearritt, 40.

The exciting comeback news comes after Jo recently revealed the first time she felt the agonising pain in November.

At the time, she thought she was having a convulsion as her whole body went into shock.

The Reach singer said she immediately rang for an ambulance and told The Sun : "I was sobbing and shaking. They came running in but I couldn’t move. Every time I tried to get off the bed I was screaming and sobbing in pain."

Surgery has left Jo facing months of physio before she can think about getting back on the stage and she will have damage to her right leg permanently.

Doctors have warned her that she may never return to her old ways. She explained how she knew something was severely wrong as she's often struggled with back pain.

"I knew the feeling but it was ten times worse than what I’ve had before," she explained. "Back surgery is so complex and every time they go in, they’re just weakening my back. I was absolutely petrified."

When surgeons ran the risks by her, she admitted she immediately feared her career was over as many of the group's tunes required free movement.

However, Jo knew if she didn't have surgery then things could be a lot worse in the long term.

She believes she endured the injury during a health kick in which she had been trampolining each day.

Jo was in agony due to four bulging discs rubbing against her sciatic nerve.

In November, Jo had to cancel a number of gigs. Uploading a snap from hospital, she wrote: "I am so sorry to announce, that I will not be able to attend @PrideFife on Saturday. I have had some health issues with my back.

"And it has resulted in me needing surgery to remove a disc, I will be going in to hospital tomorrow I am truly sorry to you all."
