S Club 7 fans rush to support band after heartbreaking tour announcement

Fans have rushed to offer their support after S Club 7 made a heartbreaking announcement. Taking to Instagram on Sunday (May 14), members revealed they have rebranded themselves as a five piece and will now on be called S Club.

The news comes a few weeks after the tragic death of Paul Cattermole. The founding member sadly passed away at his home in Dorset on April 6 at the age of 46.

Fellow member Hannah Spearritt is also expected not be joining the band's upcoming 25th anniversary tour. The remaining members will now be Bradley McIntosh, Jo O'Meara, Jon Lee, Rachel Stevens and Tina Barrett, with the tour still taking place later this year in October.

Following the re-brand, the number seven has been removed from the band’s website and social media accounts. Sharing the news with fans, all five members spoke together as a group for the first time since their devastating loss in a video.

Speaking to the camera, they said: "In all honesty, we’ve been in a bit of shock". Jo and Tina can be seen wiping away tears as they paid tribute to Paul, who they said would 'light up a room.'

The five of them go on to explain that they have renamed their 'S Club 7 Reunited Tour' to the 'Good Times Tour', in tribute to Paul, "because that was his song." Commenting on the decision, Tina said: "It feels right."

Jon also told fans: “You’ve probably noticed that there’s only five of us here today, and although Hannah will always be part of S Club 7, she won’t be joining us on this tour. We wish her all the best for the future.”

Unsurprisingly, masses of fans flooded the comment section with messages of love and support. Hankelson replied: "Renaming the tour is such a beautiful tribute, sending love to you all."

Officialcharts added: "Sending all our love and strength to you all, and of course to Hannah." Bpdbryan wrote: "Sending so much love. calling the tour “Good Times” will be a beautiful tribute to Paul." Wonderlandcollection typed: "I'm a huge loyal fan forever. And I understand Hannah's decision. I love you guys!! I still can't wait to see you."

Ohitsjoy said: "Sending love xx shame Hannah won’t be joining now. Looking forward to seeing you in October." Sarah put: "This is the most heartbreaking thing, in tears. My thoughts are with you all, and can’t wait for the tour still. Love love love being sent xxx."
