Rylan has Ruth Langsford in stitches while trialling Eamonn Holmes' new stairlift

Rylan had Ruth Langsford in stitches while trialled Eamonn Holmes ' new stair lift at their home on Sunday evening.

Eamonn, 63, has been absent from his presenting duties at GB News after undergoing an operation on his back, and suffering an accident which occurred while he recovered from that surgery.

He has been open and honest about his struggle with a dislocated pelvis and a trapped sciatic nerve, amongst other health concerns. Sightings of him at a celebrity party before Christmas on crutches sparked further concern that his health was not improving, but those have been allayed.

Due to his health issues, the married presenting couple have bought a stair lift to help Eamonn to move more freely around their house.

Rylan came to visit Eamonn, who he jokingly calls 'dad', and had a play on the Northern Irishman's new toy with Ruth filming the former X Factor star.

At the start, Ruth was heard saying: "Wait until it stops beeping, don't bloody break it." To which Rylan replied: "Can I just do it now? It's the noise! Oh, this is great," before mimicking a royal wave as the stair lift started moving down.

Ruth can be heard in hysterics in the background which in turn sets off Rylan with a fit of giggles before she sarcastically asks "are you Rylan? Can I have your autograph?"

Rylan visited the former This Morning presenting couple at their Surrey home (ITV)

He ignored the joke as he shouted to Eamonn, who appeared to be in another room. Rylan said: "Can I just say, I know you've been through it Dad, but you've got an easy life here!"

Eamonn retorted: "It's a fun fair, it's the fun palace," to which Rylan replied: "Honestly, you could rent this out."

Rylan posted on Instagram, where he has more than 1.6 million followers, with the caption: "Well someone had to go and check out the tech…. @eamonnholmes. Good to see you on the mend."

Eamonn commented on the video, saying: "Welcome to The Fun Palace ! Great night my friend." Fellow TV presenter Alex Jones replied: "This made me cry laughing!" and broadcaster Lucy Alexander simply wrote: "Hilare."

Rylan shared Eamonn's Instagram post of him coming to visit as the pair held a crutch each in the shape of an X while smiling at the camera.

Eamonn wrote: " Look who called in to see me today. What a surprise !!!Better than medicine u r Rylan my friend . Gosh we laughed and laughed."
