Rylan fans share their relief as he says 'we're back' and Rob Rinder gives sweary response after 'romance'

Rylan Clark has delighted fans as he confirmed 'we're back' with a sweet selfie. The BBC Radio 2 host has been busy jet-setting around Italy in recent weeks filming for his new BBC series, after leaving Greece where he worked on another upcoming project.

But as they say, all good things must come to an end and over the weekend, Rylan, 34, confirmed that he was heading back to the UK after finishing up his travel series with Robert Rinder. The TV and radio presenter and his fellow TV star, known to many as Judge Rinder, have bagged their own BBC2 show.

The show will see them follow in the footsteps of the romantic poet Lord Byron and English aristocrats who took on the Grand Tour, a classic trip through Europe popular in the 18th and 19th centuries and the new show will see Rylan and Rob visit artistic treasures in Venice, Florence and Rome.

On Sunday, Rylan confirmed that it was soon time for him and Rob to head back to the UK as they completed their filming gig together.

Posting a selfie of the pair which appeared to show them riding around in an open carriage, he wrote to his 1.7 million Instagram followers: "Now off home after such a wonderful experience with @robrinder. Thanks for being the best travel buddy and can’t wait for everyone to see the show."

But Rylan has since swapped Rob for a new partner, or should we say his old TV sidekick. The Essex-born star confirmed he will be back on Celebrity Gogglebox this week. The former X Factor star and Celebrity Big Brother winner has previously appeared on the show alongside his beloved mum, Linda.

And fans were gutted when the initial line-up for the show last month didn't include the duo but that all looks set to change on Friday (July 14). Taking to Instagram and Twitter, Rylan posted a picture of the TV in his front room with other cameras dotted around in front. "Friday. Channel 4. 9pm," he simply wrote.

But he has since got rid of that snap, on Instagram anyway, and replaced it with a selfie of himself and Linda. "We’re back. @c4gogglebox," he said. And Rob was quick to respond with a sweary message as he joked: "Thank f*ck! (I speak Rylan now)."

Fans, meanwhile, were rushing to share their relief that they were going to be back on the show. @julietteflower said: "Woohoo normal service resumes, happy days - you two make gogglebox." @janet.dodson.165 replied: "Thank the lord. You were missed." @lilacjem wrote: "So so happy to see you both. You're both absolutely fantastic."

@beckyhanley78 posted: "At last, your both brilliant." @dawn1165 shared: "YESSS it’s not the same without you two." @lauralittlelegs cheered: "Wooooo the duo we were waiting for." @hollyskinner90 added: "Best news ever!"

And Rob's response to the post comes after he cheekily started romance rumours between himself and Rylan. It's clear that Rylan and Rob have become firm pals with the latter even deciding to pull a bit of a prank on his co-star by telling the whole Twittersphere that they had gotten engaged.

Criminal barrister-turned-TV star Rob took to Twitter with a gorgeous snap showing the two stars standing in what appeared to be the Italian countryside. The views spread for miles while Rylan and Rob stood facing each other under the bright sun beating down on them, both while sporting crisp white shirts and trousers.

"Elton’s set at Glastonbury has inspired us to tie the knot. I [heart] @Rylan," Rob typed alongside the snap on Twitter as fans rushed to share their congratulations with some believing the nuptials to be true. However, those wanting it to be real, were sadly disappointed as Rylan, 34, himself replied and confirmed: "Fake news he’s had a wine."
