Rylan Clark supported by fans as he toasts a new chapter 'alone'

Rylan Clark has been shown that he isn't alone after sharing an evening message with his millions of followers. The TV star had a busy weekend hosting his BBC Radio 2 show on Saturday before heading over to the Strictly Come Dancing studio for the show's annual Movie Week.

But by Sunday evening it was all about some quiet time for Rylan, who hosts Strictly's daily spin-off show It Takes Two on BBC2 and he took to Twitter to share a rather poignant message.

"I’ve poured a glass of red wine and I’m toasting alone to new starts. And you know what. It feels good," the 33-year-old shared before adding some picture evidence. In a follow-up tweet, Rylan shared a photo of him lying on a gorgeous green sofa.

Only his legs could be seen in the shot as he held up a glass of vino. But despite sharing his own empowerment, his fans and followers were quick to show their support. @CeeCee1973 said: "Good for you.. I have a G&T so cheers to you. You are a beautiful person and such a fabulous presenter, funny and personal."

@Charlottesayshi wrote: "Good for you!! You deserve the best new start." @poppyam21 shared: "I’ll join you in a virtual cheers’. I’ve just finished your book #ten and would like to say thank you for sharing your story with us. I wish you all the love in the world."

@PamelaDungey posted: "Onwards and upwards darling Rylan, you are amazing, fabulous and so incredibly talented, keep walking forwards now and don’t look back. You have sooo got this!" @samemily1969 added: "Can’t change what’s behind us @Rylan only look forward to what’s ahead of us. Cheers to you & new beginnings & adventures."

It's been an emotional time for Rylan as he headed on the media trail to promote his new book. Ten: The Decade That Changed My Future, chronicles his life from finding fame on The X Factor in 2012 up until now. And for the first time he details the reasons for the end of his marriage, admitting he had cheated "years ago" but only told now ex-husband Dan Neal last year.

Rylan and Dan split last year after six years together, with the news coming out amid a four-month break from the spotlight. The pair met on Big Brother's Bit on the Side - which Rylan was hosting - in 2015 and they became engaged the following year. Rylan and Dan, an ex-Met Police detective, walked down the aisle in 2016 and kept their relationship away from the public eye. But fans became concerned after Rylan missed several weeks of his radio show.

Rylan returned to work after a four-month break and it wasn't until January that he opened up to The Observer about his struggles during that period. He explained: "I’d got to the point where I didn’t know if I wanted to come back."

Rylan said he went into "self blame" mode after telling Dan the truth and felt his life was over and spent time hiding at his mum's house. He writes: "And for the first time in thirty-two years I felt I couldn't carry on no more. What's the point I thought. I'd lost what I thought was everything, the one thing I always wanted. A man I loved. A family of my own. And now it was gone. And so I tried to end it."

He then sought help and spent time in a mental health hospital before returning to work on the radio and on last year's Strictly.
