Rylan Clark says marriage split and mental breakdown left him ‘paralysed’

Rylan Clark has opened up about his marriage split from husband of six years Dan Neal and his mental breakdown.

The 37-year-old opened up about their divorce during an appearance on ITV’s The Assembly, in which celebrities are interviewed by a collective of autistic, neurodivergent, and learning-disabled journalists.

Clark said: “It made me so ill, like so ill.”

The television presenter was pressed further on his feelings.

He replied: “When my marriage ended, you know the term when someone says, ‘ to pull the rug from under you’?

“That’s the only way I can describe it. It’s like someone went like that and I fell over, and I couldn’t get back up. It was like I broke both my arms and legs.”
