Rylan Clark says 'I'm not coming back' after he delights 'TV dad' Eamonn Holmes with visit

Rylan Clark cheekily told Eamonn Holmes he's "not coming back" after paying his 'TV dad' a visit amidst his struggles with his health. The BBC Radio 2 star became close with Eamonn and his TV star wife Ruth Langsford after landing a job on This Morning.

The celebrity couple took the former X Factor star under their wing and despite not longer appearing on the ITV daytime show, the trio have remained close with Rylan, calling Ruth and Eamonn his TV parents while Eamonn and Ruth refer to Rylan as their 'TV son'.

And over the weekend, Rylan headed over to Surrey from Essex to pay his telly family a visit. It comes after Eamonn, 63, returned to work on GB News after being forced to take several weeks off. The Northern Irish presenter underwent surgery in a bid to help his suffering from chronic pain.

However, just a couple of weeks after the op, which came with a "20 per cent risk of going wrong", it was revealed Eamonn had suffered a fall during his recovery and had to undergo a second surgery after the accident left him with a fractured shoulder. And in more tragic news, in late November, Eamonn said that his mum, Josie, has died. The former This Morning star confirmed the sad news on Instagram alongside a photo of his mum before her death waving to him from her front door.

But as he continues to battle his ongoing health woes, Eamonn was cheered up by a visit from Rylan who decided to test out a new bit of kit at Eamonn and Ruth's home. The Strictly It Takes Two host and Loose Women star Ruth both posted a video to their Instagram pages of Rylan taking a ride on the stair lift.

After eventually getting it moving, Rylan said: "Oh, this is great!", as he gave a royal wave while travelling down the spiral staircase as Ruth, 62, laughed from behind the camera. "Excuse me, are you Rylan? Can I have your autograph?, Ruth joked while unable to contain her laughter.

"Can I just say, I know you’ve been through it, dad, but you’ve got an easy life here!", Rylan then joked with Eamonn. The former This Morning host joked that his house was like a ‘fun fair’, hailing it ‘The Fun Palace' before Rylan, 34, quipped: "Honestly, you could rent this out!"

Writing under Rylan and Ruth's post, Eamonn penned: "Welcome to The Fun Palace! Great night my friend." But Ryan couldn't help make another cheeky quip as he replied: "I ain't coming back not after being under ur chair for half hour trying to fix the ****ing thing."

But it was all in jest and the former Celebrity Big Brother winner also posed for a snap with Eamonn which the latter posted to Instagram. "Look who called in to see me today," Eamonn typed alongside the photo which showed the pair holding up a crutch and walking stick each. He added: "What a surprise!!! Better than medicine u r Rylan my friend. Gosh we laughed and laughed."

And Eamonn's followers and celebrity pals were delighted to see the smiling pair. S Club 7 singer Jo O'Meara wrote: "Love this." Reality star Vicky Pattison said: "Two of my fave fellas." Hollyoaks star Jamie Lomas replied: "And United beat City. Wow what a weekend."

@sylvieamberville commented: "Awwww how lovely!!!! Laughter is the best medicine I think!!!! Do you know what Eamonn- true friends are like a needle in a haystack- he seems so lovely!!!!! True friend to both of you." @travelprincess99 shard: "I love the relationship you all have, with @ruthlangsford too. So lovely."

@rorydmackay posted: "Aww fab! Lovely to see that! What are friends for?" @crkinley01 typed: "Maybe you can get him on prescription. Lovely to see you looking so happy." @gillz87 added: "My two favourite people, most genuine kindest souls. wishing you all the health happiness in the world, take care love always."
