Rylan Clark says BBC 'received complaints' for racy Strictly wardrobe choice

Strictly Come Dancing’s Rylan Clark anticipated the BBC One show could have received a number of complaints after Tyler West’s performance on Saturday evening.

The radio presenter took to the Strictly ballroom floor with Dianne Buswell to perform a fiery Paso Doble, but as the pair raised temperatures in the studio many were left distracted by the star’s wardrobe choice.

The star sported a sparkly micro waistcoat which left little to the imagination, as he was virtually topless through the dramatic routine.

It wasn't lost on fans and the judging panel alike as Motsi Mabuse gasped: “You've got nothing on!” before Anton Du Beke joked: “To think I nearly wore the very same outfit.”

It Takes Two host Rylan cut straight to the chase on Tuesday evening as Tyler and Dianne appeared on the BBC Two spin-off show’s sofa.

He said: “We absolutely loved it. We do need to talk about the outfit though. It added to the mood of the dance and people have been in touch, Tyler. Probably a few complaints but we get over it.”

After Rylan asked for the disc jockey’s reaction to learning he would be wearing the outfit, Tyler said: “I felt like this is Strictly. Genuinely, I was here for it. I overheat a lot anyway, so I was fine with it. They had the heating on in there as well.”

Tyler and Dianne landed in the dreaded dance-off during Sunday night’s results show alongside Tony Adams and his partner Katya Jones.

However, the BBC ballroom show had to cancel its latest elimination after the former footballer sustained an injury ahead of having to perform in the dance-off.

Host Tess Daly explained to viewers: “Due to an injury sustained on Saturday night, Tony is unable to take part in the dance-off and has decided to withdraw from the competition.

“This means there will be no dance-off tonight and Tyler and Dianne are through to Blackpool.”

Tony later said of his time on the show: “It’s been emotional guys, I cried for the first month. I came in here with one message, if you’ve got an issue with mental health then please don’t suffer in silence and reach out for help.

“Little did I know that I was going to learn a lot about myself in the process. I thought this ‘journey’ rubbish was nonsense, but my god the rollercoaster of emotion.

“I’ve got to be honest, it’s tough, physically it’s really tough out there, but dancing is really fantastic for you. Go out there and enjoy it and pick up new skills and explore. I suppose I had better mention this one [Katya] hadn’t I, she is an exceptional human being, she really is.”
