Rylan Clark resorts to OnlyFans and kebabs to try and sell books - saying he has no hope

Rylan Clark has come up with some novel ways to try and sell his new book.

The BBC Radio 2 presenter moaned he had “no hope” of flogging his second autobiography, TEN: The Decade that Changed My Future, which comes out on September 29.

“Just seen a list of who’s releasing their books the same time as me - we got no hope haha,” the 33-year-old wrote on Instagram alongside a grumpy selfie which he captioned: “MEHHHHHHHH.”

He then joked: “So if you fancy helping a one time number 1 best selling author get to approx 68 in the charts then you can pre order #RylanTen now for a bargain TENNER x.”

Fans and his celebrity pals were quick to comment with Natalie Cassidy, who plays Sonia in EastEnders, writing: “Babe there’s still a chance.”

Urging Rylan to stay positive, one follower wrote: “I’d rather read yours than any of the others. Stay positive you got this.”

“Always No1 in my eyes,” said another, while a third commented: “Rylan you are bloody fab, your book is gonna sell out.”

“Doesn’t matter who is releasing a book at the same time we love you Rylan,” a fourth chimed in.

A fifth added: “Don’t worry love I can’t to read it.”

He even joked that he'd joined OnlyFans (Instagram)

Taking to his Instagram stories, the former X Factor star tried to ramp up his pre-orders by posting a video of himself lying topless at his Essex home.

“So I’m just sitting here thinking about the book, thinking about all the blood sweat and tears. Then I thought f*** this I’m having a kebab.”

A link then appeared on the screen for said kebab before he continued: “Then I thought I’ll have Judi Dench on the telly.”

In another clip, Rylan teased he had even joined the adults-only site OnlyFans saying: “Then I thought I’m going to start an OnlyFans.”

He pointed to a link at the top of the screen and said: “The link’s there for my OnlyFans.”

But it was all a clever ploy as if followers clicked the link they would find themselves redirected to his Amazon page where people can pre-order his new book.

Rylan revealed he had a new book on the way back in March after his return to work following his split from husband Dan Neal.

Sharing the news on social media, he wrote: “TEN: The decade that changed my future. Wow. All the emotions.”

Describing what the book is about, Rylan continued: “This book celebrates ten years of me being in this crazy industry. We all know I should have lasted ten minutes, so how I’ve lasted ten years, I’ll never know.

“Learned so many lessons, especially in the last year but it’s been a journey, and I can’t wait to share it with you very soon.”

He added: “You can pre-order your copy from the link in my bio and if you’re quick you can also get yourself a signed copy from @waterstones ya lucky animals.

“And if audiobooks are a bit of you, you can pre-order the audiobook which will be read by, yes – yours truly. Hitting the shelves on 29 September, can’t wait for you all to read it xx.”
