Rylan Clark on This Morning return: 'It's nice to drop in, show my teeth off and then leave'

Rylan Clark has shared his joy at returning to present This Morning ahead of filming for Dating Naked, a new series he will host on streaming service Paramount Plus.

Clark, 35, who presented This Morning between 2013 and 2019, first re-appeared on the famous sofa in November alongside Cat Deeley, and has since been seen on screen with Emma Willis.

Speaking to The Standard, he said: "It has been lovely being with everyone, nice seeing everyone.

"I’m very lucky in the fact that everyone I’m hosting with is a mate. It is work but, we just have a laugh."

There have been big question marks around who will replace former regular host Holly Willoughby, who stepped down in October after 14 years in the role, with names such as Deeley, Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway believed to be in the mix.

Asked for his thoughts, the Essex native gave one of his trademark blunt responses, saying: "Do you know what, I really wish I did have theories. I’m hearing so many things every day and you know what, the fact that I don’t work there all the time, f*****g lovely cos I ain’t got to worry about it. It’s nice just to drop in, show my teeth off and then leave."

Elsewhere, he has lots to keep him busy, including his Saturday afternoon show on BBC Radio 2 and he's about to film a new series called Dating Naked for Paramount Plus.

He describes it as a naked version of Love Island, where the contestants go on the hunt for love in the buff.

Asked whether he will be stripping off himself, he says he would have been up for it.

"I did offer but they said no, so I was like alright, more fool you!" he laughed.

He will jet off to Colombia for the show, escaping the British winter, which he admits has been getting him down.

The former X Factor finalist was also recently named as a judge for Deliveroo’s 2024 Restaurant Awards and took part in a special photoshoot to recreate a number of iconic award looks.

One of them saw him channel Lady Gaga's raw meat outfit, which she wore to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.

Clark's version was a blazer and trousers ensemble crafted from donner kebab meat, which he insisted was 100 percent real and not Photoshopped.

"I can still smell it!" he shudders.

The awards will see the best and most-loved restaurants across the country battle it out in a public vote, open from now until January 21 with winners announced February 15.

He said: "I’ve wanted to work with Deliveroo for a long time because I genuinely think I’m their top customer. When they came along I was like ‘finally, I can get my money back!’

"I think I literally keep the company afloat."
