Rylan Clark-Neal walks off This Morning interview as old X Factor clip is played

Rylan Clark-Neal walked off during an interview on today's This Morning when a clip of his time on the X Factor was played.

The television presenter appeared on the popular daytime show to talk about BAFTA's must-see moments nominations, which are now open.

Rylan revealed Killing Eve writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge is up for a nomination for her smash hit comedy drama Fleabag, as well as hit HBO series Game of Thrones and the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special ending.

But This Morning host Ruth Langsford was keen to reference one of her own must-see moments, before a famous clip of Rylan sobbing to Nicole Scherzinger on the X Factor was played.

In the footage from 2012, Rylan can be seen crying hysterically after learning he was being taken through to the live shows on the hit singing competition, falling to the floor and pressing his face into a cushion.

Ruth said it was one of her favourite television moments, before noticing Rylan's chair was empty.

Ruth and her husband and co-host Eamonn Holmes said: "Oh, he's gone".

Rylan then returned to his seat, saying "every time" and shaking his head.

But Eamonn said had that moment not happened, Rylan wouldn't be in the position he's in now with his career.

Rylan agreed and confessed he watches the clip around once a year, and said that when he's complaining about early mornings on the job, the clip reminds him what it's all been for.
